K&L carb rebuild kits

I installed 4 ea kits in 1981 Honda CB 650 this past weekend. What I found somewhat shocked me.The K&L kits were inconsistent and incomplete in that parts that should have been supplied were not.Tapered needles were not supplied as the advertised picture would indicate. Two kits supplied the required #120 main jets while the other two supplied #112 main jets forcing me to use the original jets.O-rings for the bowl drain screws were incorrectly sized as they were too small. An unnecessary set of extra set of pilot air screw o-rings and washers were supplied, but no o-ring for the accelerator pump to bowl was supplied.Overall, poor execution of a rebuild kit and price for these exact kits much cheaper on other vendor sites.

This kit has everything you need to get carbs in great shape.

Q: Own a 1996 yamaha virago+750cc--can the Mikuni carbs be adjusted for air-fuel mixture-I was told that they often are factory set and can't be adjusted?

A: Yes, the carburetors can be adjusted for air/fuel mixture. They need to be internally re-jetted for large changes, but small changes can be made with airscrews located on the engine side of the carb, just above where it slide into the manifold. Before doing any modifications, you should start with a carburetor rebuild followed with having the carbs synchronized. Once they are synchronized you can set both air screws at 2.5 turns out from a soft seat, then start with the rear cylinder and turn the pilot screw in until the engine starts to falter, then back out until it idles smooth, then 1/4 turn more. Repeat this with the front cylinder. If the bike does still not run correctly you may need to modify the actual jets in the carburetors. The jetting can and will vary based on any intake or exhaust modifications done to the bike also.

Q: Does this include the Emulsion Tube/ Bleed Tube?
It's the tube that the jet screws into. The picture I sent is the tube with the top snapped off.

A: Unfortunately these carburetor kits will not include the emulsion tube. It looks like you are going to have a to source a good used one as Kawasaki has unfortunately discontinued this item also. You may check with some motorcycle salvage yards to to see if they can help you tackle this problem.
