The deal breaker for me was: the visor doesn't seal to the helmet when fully closed. I planned to use this helmet for inclement weather riding, if the visor wont seal and keep out rain, then it's useless.
Other than the seal (which I thought about modifying w/a trip to the hardware store), it seems to be a good helmet. I loved the modular feature and it was easy to open w/the button at the bottom of the chin area.
It did seem a little roomy for air to come in via the bottom opening, but I saw this as opportunity for less fog which I was happy for.
The air vents seemed really cheap, to the point where I could see the 'click' function wear out with regular use. Like the plastic nubs that give it the click, allowing the vents to lock open or closed, would wear out easily and become like my LS2 helmet where they just kinda do whatever they feel like (stay open or close when they want).
The visor Field Of View was nice, was easy to put on with glasses.
If you get this helmet, even considering my qualms with it, it doesn't come with a speed strap. Loosen the strap all the way (or 90% of the way) but dont completely undo it, move the strap all the way forward of the chin area, and put it on like a full face. This will save time and effort putting it on, especially with gloves on.
After having this helmet in person and returned (no problems with MotoSport here, except for a very tardy return of my $$$), I now know what I'm looking for in a helmet; the problem is finding one sub $200 that fits the need..........
I have wanted a modular helmet for a few years but never put it as a top priority. Well my wife sat me down and told me to stop waiting and do it. So I did some research and found the Vega Summit II at motosport.com. The product arrived in excellent condition. It appears exactly as described. The prices at motosport are excellent in comparison to any local stores. I would gladly purchase again.
I think these are GREAT helmets, especially at this price. I have had one in Flare Red and one in Titanium. I still sometimes wear the Titanium, although it's several years old. I discarded the red one because I was wearing it when I had an accident. I would recommend them to anyone.
