Great Purchase.

Perfect fit. My son doesn't like a regular chest protector so I purchased this and he loves it. Fits great with a little added protection all the way around.

Very comforable

very pleased with this protector. much more comfortable than a plastic chest protector, especially if you are wearing a neck brace.
The picture makes it look alot stiffer / thicker than it really is though. it is more of mesh material with removable pads. very flexible. I was looking for comforable, so i was pleased to find that out.

A: The TLD Shock Doctor Vest features all "Strata" foam panels and The Alpinestars Bionic S2 does have hard plastic panels. The plastic panels give you a bit more heavy impact protection but the foam would allow for more flexibility and movement. I can't really say that one is better than the other but I would say you will be happy with either protector. Both Troy Lee and Alpinestars make great quality products.
