Value for price is strong, installation is a pain

I purchased this about a month ago and have been please with it so far. I did not connect this to my battery, instead will just replace the lithium battery included. Research I have done from other riders say it should last at least a year. Shows speed, miles and time traveled. Intuitive interface.
With regards to the installation, I put this on a KTM 350 SX with a stock front rotor which already had a slot for the magnetic "bolt." My brake caliper was already pre-tapped to install the sensor, screwed right in. Running the cable zipped tied to the brake cable was simple and bolting the unit to my Pro Taper bars was easy. What was difficult and not explained very well was firmly attaching the magnet to the rotor. Included with your kit is a retainer clip which is intended to slide onto the magnet on the other side of the rotor. I removed the wheel from my bike, and used cir-clip pliers to spread it open to get onto the groove of the magnet. Once on I had to use needle nose pliers to squeeze the cir-clip tighter on the magnet. Instructions suggest using JB Weld which probably would have been easier.

when I initially bought this I loved it. However, within a couple of months the sensor failed and was replaced under warranty. Then the whole unit failed at about two years old and less than 35 hours on my bike. A friend of mine has the same unit and his stopped working within a couple of years as well. I am extremely disappointed and will never buy or recommend trail tech products ever again.

Trail Tech Endurance 2 Computer

Product arrived one day earlier than estimate. For an entry level computer, this has all of the most used functions.

Installation on my KTM EXC 200 was a breeze as the magnet and hole for the pickup were already on the bike. Very pleased with the purchase.

Pretty slick

I really like the top speed and avg speed option. It doesn't have a stop watch per say. But, it does record your ride time which is separate from your hour meter. Only thing that had me nervous was how high it mounted on the handle bar (wreck damage) with stock mount. Over all I would buy it again. I've ridden approximately 7 hours with it so I don't know about longevity. So far so good.

Nice unit

great instructions, easy install and works great. only thing that would be nice is if it had temp readings, i know the vapor has it but it is about $50 more and didn't need the tach.

Better than expected

I put this on my Kx250f and it works perfectly and point on accurate, great for dirtbikes or anything, the setup was a little harder than expected but thats only because of my bike.

A: You are still able to have the traditional time keeping option with the Trail Tech system, however, I believe the Odometer is linked directly to your bike, and will keep that information as it's own separate category.
Q: What is the IP rating?
Anyone know exactly how water / dust proof this is? Listing the IP rating like most other electronics do would be very helpful.

A: I am not sure what you are looking for here, but in my history in working with Trail Tech, I have found their products to be made of the highest quality. When issues have occurred (rare), they are very quick to get the issue handled for the customer. I hope this answers your question.

A: All the Trail Tech meters have their own internal battery. The only thing the external power on the Endurance II runs is the constant lit back light.
