DualGuard sealed ring street bike chain technology where the sealing ring has an 'X' shape - meaning there are two sealing points and two lubrication pools versus the one-sided, single-lip design of a standard O-ring. This sealed ring design type dramatically improves lubricity in high heat conditions while providing lower friction and longer chain life.

Note for installing X-ring chains: As X-ring chains are wider than standard roller chains, when fitting an X-ring chain to a motorcycle that was fitted with a non O-ring chain as original equipment, it is essential to check that there is proper clearance of the engine cases near the countershaft sprocket and any other places of close contact. Failure to do so could result in damage to the chain and motorcycle and could ultimately cause the chain to fail.

Sunstar 520 Road Dualguard Sealed Chain:
Sunstar's heavy duty, street motorcycle chain model is the RDG series (RDG = Road Dual Guard) for 520, 525 and 530 applications. It uses Sunstar's DualGuard sealed ring street bike chain technology where the sealing ring has an 'X' shape - meaning there are two sealing points and two lubrication pools versus the one-sided, single-lip design of a standard O-ring. This sealed ring design type dramatically improves lubricity in high heat conditions while providing lower friction and longer chain life - and it is available for just about every street motorcycle on today's market. It comes in the natural color option and uses a strong rivet-type connecting link. For a higher performance road chain at a non-premium price, the Sunstar RDG answers the bell and is great for everything from everyday commuting to closed course riding.

Sunstar 520 RTG1 Works Tripleguard Sealed Racing Chain:
For a top of the line, premium-level roadracing chain, Sunstar offers the RTG1 series - Sunstar's highest performing roadracing chain - for 520 and 530 street applications (RTG1 = Road Triple Guard). This Works level chain features the TripleGuard sealed ring technology where there are 3 sealing lips and lubrication pools on each side of the ring to maintain top performance in high heat, extreme conditions; the TripleGuard ring type is the best for lubrication and protection. Both the 520 and 530 are available in pre-cut lengths and come in the gold color option (gold outer and inner plates). While the 520 is great for any bike 1000cc or less which already uses a 520 pitch, the 530RTG1 is suitable for the high-performance, larger displacement machines like the Suzuki Hayabusa, Kawasaki ZX-14R Ninja and others in the same class that use 530 pitch. Both options use the rivet-type connecting link and are well suited to handle the demands of the toughest racing conditions encountered on the street.
