Wouldn’t buy another one

I’ve had this helmet for a few months now, I bought it due to its lightness, which I am very happy about. It is not , however, a very quiet helmet in my opinion. My previous helmet was a Shoei Hornet x-2, which oddly, was a little quieter in spite of having a visor! The Valkyrie also tends to scramble my vision a bit at speeds above 60 mph. That being said, it has pretty good vision, light weight, lots of air venting, and nice paint scheme.

Big upgrade

My previous helmet was a Shoei Scott Russell Replica, the RF1200 is lighter, has better vents and shield, plus it looks good ! (Can’t beat the old crazy chicken of the Russell Replica for graphics, but close)

Shoei quality product, great graphics, comfortable

Actually asked an artist to look at the advertisement for this helmet to determine if the graphics were painted or real! Amazing detail and smoking hot on my girlfriend!
Some wind/road noise, but acceptable considering the venting features. Quality helmet.

Shoei RF-1200 Helmet best helmet I have ever worn.

This helmet is so light weight it does not even feel like you are wearing one. SNELL and DOT Certified so it can be worn for track days. The pin lock system makes shield changes super easy. The EVO insert is a must when riding in cold/Damp conditions and pretty much eliminates fogging.

Great helmet

Light, quiet, comfortable. Best ventilation I ever had in a helmet. Very well made. Nice styling. What more is there to say. Only that it's worth every penny....

Great helmet

Always try a helmet on for size in a store first. I knew what size to get online, but I probably would have ordered too big if I hadn't tried it on first.

Favorite Helmet by a HUGE MARGIN

This is my first "premium" helmet. I've had a number of HJCs and Scorpions but they just can't compare in terms of quality, weight, and AIRFLOW. The vents on this helmet actually work really well!

It is important to note that the fitment is particular to more oval shaped heads.

Upgraded to this from a RF 1000. This helmet is awesome. Lightweight, quite, looks super good, comfortable. The only negative thing I can say about this helmet is its a little pricey but you get what you pay for.

Great helmet

This is mostly a comparative review, because I feel that it makes sense to compare it to other top level helmets.
Before I review this helmet let me tell you that in the past 10 years I have owned and used a Shoei X11, a Shoei x12, and lately an Arai RX7XX (Corsair V in US).
Out of all of the above the RF1200 is the most comfortable and quietest with all the bikes I have been riding-street, supermoto and scooters.
I mostly use it on the freeway, so noise is an important factor because I ride at stable speeds and as you know the hissing noise is not only uncomfortable, but also damaging to the ears. The Arai is the loudest of all and the noise it caused was the deciding factor to replace it with the RF1200.
Comfort wise it is not as tight as the other 3 helmets above, which is good for me when I ride in town and I have to take it off and put it on frequently. By that, I do not imply that it fits loosely or that it is shaky. It just fits right. All of the above helmets fit right for me, so I don't have a problem, but the Arai is a little tighter making it not as comfortable for everyday use.
I also like the fact that it comes with an antifog sleeve that "sticks" to the visor, something that Arai also came with, but not the older Shoei helmets that I have.
In terms of weight it feels lighter than the Arai above and similar to the other Shoei helmets above.
Changing the visor is very easy (as easy as the other Shoei helmets). The Arai's visor mechanism uses a different method, but for me either method was fine once I got used to the Arai's.
Overall I think that this is the best helmet for everyday riding but also never had any shaking or heavy noise issue even at high speeds of up to 160 miles per hour. On the contrary the Arai is VERY LOUD at high speeds.

Q: Are these SNELL 2010 or 2015? I've seen multiple descriptions with conflicting info, and even sellers chiming in with two different answers. It needs to be clear & verified.

A: No, this helmet comes with the Snell M2010 and DOT Certified sticker only. For the SAI sticker it would need to be purchased from a dealer in Australia.
