This is the third Shoei I've owned in 19 years. The same thing I said about the first one still applies ...only more so. It is a home for your head. Other than softly planted on your pillow for the night after a day of great riding this is as good as your knot is gonna feel all day long. The weight is right so my neck isn't straining, the ventilation excellent and visibility spot on. The latter due in part to the quality of Shoei's face shield. I've had face shields on other lids that scratch if you look at them wrong. Would I recommend this to a friend? I have. Many times.
This helmet is amazing. Fits great, very quiet, sick design. The price let me get into a Shoei which I always wanted. I looked a lot of places but Motorsport had the best price and availability. I should have known not to waste my time looking on other sites.
I purchased the Shoei Parameter as a second helmet to my current Arai Defiant. It's currently winter in the NW and as a fair weather rider, will not be able to try for another 4-5 months.
What I can tell you, from the feature set, quality and initial fit this is destined to be my primary go to. Another plus is the orange, white and gray camo graphics are a perfect match to my KTM 1290 Superduke R Special Edition.
Can't rate the performance at this time however, compared to my Shoei have no doubt it'll rate at a high level.
I’ve had this helmet for a few months now, I bought it due to its lightness, which I am very happy about. It is not , however, a very quiet helmet in my opinion. My previous helmet was a Shoei Hornet x-2, which oddly, was a little quieter in spite of having a visor! The Valkyrie also tends to scramble my vision a bit at speeds above 60 mph. That being said, it has pretty good vision, light weight, lots of air venting, and nice paint scheme.
My previous helmet was a Shoei Scott Russell Replica, the RF1200 is lighter, has better vents and shield, plus it looks good ! (Can’t beat the old crazy chicken of the Russell Replica for graphics, but close)
Actually asked an artist to look at the advertisement for this helmet to determine if the graphics were painted or real! Amazing detail and smoking hot on my girlfriend!
Some wind/road noise, but acceptable considering the venting features. Quality helmet.
This helmet is so light weight it does not even feel like you are wearing one. SNELL and DOT Certified so it can be worn for track days. The pin lock system makes shield changes super easy. The EVO insert is a must when riding in cold/Damp conditions and pretty much eliminates fogging.
Light, quiet, comfortable. Best ventilation I ever had in a helmet. Very well made. Nice styling. What more is there to say. Only that it's worth every penny....
Always try a helmet on for size in a store first. I knew what size to get online, but I probably would have ordered too big if I hadn't tried it on first.
