What most don’t realize is Can-Am is a division of Bombardier Recreational Products – a company with beginnings in the 1930s. Can-Am first started in 1972 with high-performance dirt bikes. A change in business direction led Bombardier to outsource the Can-Am brand of motorcycles and eventually in 1987 the last Can-Am motorcycles rolled off the production line. In 2006, Can-Am found life again when Bombardier ATV became Can-Am ATV and the company launched the 2007 line-up. To no one’s surprise, Can-Am parts are now widely sought after as the Can-Am Outlander and Commander series make for some stiff competition.
