I bought this a while ago and it works awesome.
Setting the sag on your motorcycle is important because there is no average setting when it comes to comfort and ridability. The Mototool digital sag scale makes it easy for one person to set their own sag. It is a great tool to have.
Arrived today any used it on my 17 Ktm Sx 150 , drilled a small hole in the rear fender where sag is printed (Ktm 16,17,18 only) and set it up , my rear shock was very close , static sag was perfect at 35mm & the race sag was 97mm , I loosened the preload on the spring slightly & it was spot on , 105mm .
I also did my forks & im glad I did because they were way out , 50mm. Thanks to the handy leaflet supplied I set it to 70mm race sag , This is very easy to do on a Ktm , just let some air out of the left air fork.
I did find it abit hard to use on the front forks on the Ktm due to lack of magnetic metal near the axle but I just stuck it to the axle crimp bolts and checked the sag a few times to make sure it was correct, other than that it’s a fantastic product that lets you set sag alone & it’s very simple to use , I would recommend it all day long .
This product is so simple, and one of those...."why didn't i think of that" tools. It is extremely accurate and even easier to use. I can have my sag checked, set, rechecked MUUUCH faster than the old way of having multiple people help to just check it. Being able to check sag by yourself and not having to enlist your wife to try to desipher between mm on a measuring tape is more than worth the price of this tool. If broke I would buy again in a heartbeat!
Best purchase ever and very easy to use
This product is user-friendly. Very accurate and everyone knows how important it is to have the proper sag on your bike period I Give It 2 Thumbs Up. I must have tool
I don't post a lot of reviews, but this I had to. This thing is incredible for getting accurate sag measurements. I bought a new yz and resprung it for 210 pounds. I used my old sag scale and thought I was around 105mm. I rode the bike around and was kind of disappointed that it did not feel much better than the stock spring. The front was deflecting a bit and harsh on the initial stroke. I got the slacker and my sag was at 92mm and free sag at around 20. Not good. I adjusted the rider sag to 105mm and free sag was at 32. Perfect. I went and rode it and it was a brand new bike. The forks were perfect. It bunny hopped over rocks level. The bike was balanced. The front was not pushing past the initial stroke. Get one.
for what it is, it's expensive. But it's takes all of the guest work on setting up the sag, front and back. Having a bike that helps you versus work against you is invaluable.
