Nice Tires

M5 grip really well and help instill confidence on the curves. Work great on my K1200s. My favorite tire for this bike

Metzler M5 tire purchase

MotoSport is a go to place for tires. This particular tire is in serious demand and finding it in the correct size for K1300S, in stock, is not that easy. Thank you for stocking this. M5's are great sport touring tires heavy on the sport end of it. Neutral, work fine in the rain and hold up to heat and speed in the South West.

Grippy Tires

My BMW K1300S came from the factory with the Metzeler M3 tires. When I did my first tire change I switched to the M-5s. I liked the hard center for tire wear and the softer sides for better grip in the turns, I have been using the M-5s during track days with very good results especially turning. Riding I average about 6,000 miles between tires.

One year and 33,000 miles later I just tried the new Metzeler M-5 D-SPEC tires. I find them to hold corners even better then the standard M-5.

Q: D-Spec

What does the D-Spec mean
A: D-SPEC means the compound on the edges is a softer rubber then the rubber in the center of the tire vs the standard M-5 which uses the same rubber on the edges as the center just not at tightly compressed.

A: D-Spec tires feature Metzeler's Multi-Zone Compound Technology. They are a dual compound tire with a harder compund near the center of the tire and softer on the edges. Provides good mileage while still good performance while cornering.
