360-degree video footage has been around for a bit, but never has it been as easy to capture as with the GoPro Fusion 360. GoPro developed the Fusion 360 with a number of innovative features to ensure it's not just another VR camera, but an entirely different, more immersive experience than ever before. It's packing incredible capabilities, including the ability to capture 5K video at 30 frames per second and 3K video at 60 frames per second, as well as multiple microphones for spherical surround sound of your favorite activities and adventures.
180-degree lenses on each side of the camera allow you to shoot everything surrounding you without consciously aiming at what you're shooting. GoPro then developed a proprietary algorithm, what's referred to as D.WARP, to seamlessly stitch both shots together without annoying stitch lines ruining the viewing experience. Built-in stabilization provides silky-smooth video playback without needing a gimbal, meaning your videos will appear far more professional and less like a jittery, caffeine-addled affair.
Another innovative feature is the ability to use OverCapture, which gives iOS and Android users the ability to reframe 360-degree footage as fixed images and traditional footage. This may not sound like a big deal, but it gives you the ability to follow objects of interest (i.e. skater flowing around the skate park, traffic patterns, etc...) without the camera moving and disturbing the shot. Suddenly, you can transform your footage into professional-looking shots without needing an entire film crew just to get the shot.
And in case you're wondering, GoPro offers a desktop editing application called Fusion Studio for Mac/Windows. It's recommended that your computer runs an Intel Quad Core i7 or better for the easiest rendering of the chunky 3 and 5K video formats. GoPro's mobile app for iOS and Android devices is free and located in either the iTunes or Google Play stores.
The Fusion comes with two Fusion adhesive attachments, Fusion Grip, zippered carrying case, USB-C data transfer/charging cable, and user manual. It does not come with a microSD card, which is required to capture footage. GoPro recommends using a SanDisk Extreme microSDXC (sold separately) for the best possible performance of this camera.
