Doesnt perform as well as it looks

First of all when i bought it the size was too small so i had to send it back and had to get the medium. Then when i ride it tends to ride up towards your neck all the time which is a massive pain because i have too keep pulling it down to sit it back on my chest. However i have crashed with it on landed on my back on rocks provides protection (but not enough). Its better than nothing but would highly reccomend choosing something different.

Ive had 2 of these (stuipid me)
Plastic shell is junk. a simple fall over and the plastic breaks. Had It for a month. its already broken.
Save your money.

Pretty good buy

This is a very stylish and good looking chest protector! I got a medium and i am 135 lbs. and it was a good fit. The only problem is that is only covered part of my chest. If it were to be more protective then it would have more surface area in the chest. Otherwise it's a tight chest protector.

this chest protector is designed to only cover you ribcage area, which is odd. i would buy a kidney belt with this to be on the safe side.

Sizing is WAY off!!

I'm 5'-11 and 190 lbs. Ordered a large and it didn't even come close to fitting. It was tight in the arms and the chest was about 1/3 uncovered. I would say that a large would fit someone who is 5'-9 and 165 lbs. No more! Needless to say, this chest protector was returned.

One of my best investments in protection

Had this Chest protector for a few months now and all i can say is WOW! I never really liked the feel of wearing chest protector, but after wearing this i always wear it. When i ride it doesnt have a bulky or restricting feeling. i hardly remember im even wearing one because it feels so light and comfortable but at the same time i know im safe. LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!

VERY comfortable chest protetector.

This chest protector is very flexible at the rubber (black) joints it has but otherwise is very solid. Rivets and bolts hold up very well and the padding foam on the inside is very comfortable yet durable. Also, very good airflow.

Comfortable, but short lived

I bought this chest protector 2 months ago, and it already has 4 cracks in it. I previously owned a fox airframe, which went through the same scrutiny as this raceframe for 2 years, and it showed no signs of damage. The cracks are in the left shoulder from a high speed wahsout and on the right buckle area from blowing a berm and loosing control of the bike. although the raceframe does have its flaws it is confortable, well vanted and prtects tyoufrom roost vert well.

all in all, it is a well vented, comfortable and easily breakable chest protector that is very expensive. there are better options

Very nice, cushion is unbelievable around the neck and abdomen section. tight fit with the evs neck brace. plastic is sturdy, and good ventalation.

Very comfortable and Leatt compatible

I purchased this chest protector with a Leatt. Some reviews said it's not compatible, but I get them to fit together perfectly.

No Encumrances

This is a really great chest protector.

[1] Compared to other guards, it really does a great job with some impact protection.

[2] It is very well vented

[3] The rubber straps do a great job flexing and let the guard move with you.

My brother is George Costanza "no encumbrances" type. He normally runs a foam guard under the jersey. I let him try it and he also gave it rave reviews.

The bicep protectors are a bit chincy, but they are easily added/removed.

Would recommend

so all in all it was a good chest protector for me, i was doin about 40 in a canal bank hit around 50 and saw a quad comin the other way swung to the left pitched me off my bike and got a bolder in the chest. knocked the wind outa me, and momentarly black out, cracked the chest protector tho.

For the money honestly i think the troy lee disignes was more durable, but still a awsome chest protector, saved me from bein hospitalized.

Best Chest protector out there

i love it, its so comfortable. i had an EVS Flux before this and it was good, but this is 10 times better, and fits with the leatt with minor modification(cutting off biofoam on the sides of your neck)

Not leatt compatable

i purchased the raceframe and a leatt brace at the same time.the raceframe was very comfortable and provided great protection, but would not work with the leatt without major modification.i sent the raceframe back and have now ordered an airframe.i couldn't shell out $150 and start cutting it up.the raceframe is a great product but nowadays everything should be leatt brace compatable.

Q: How do i get replacement aluminum screws for the hinge adjustment brackets? Two screws were stripped of threads completely when it arrived.?
I tried to remove the screws so i could make adjustments and two had been screwed in so tight that the threads stripped off so they would not tighten or stay tight. Im afraid with the two screws not doing their job the others might fail in time. As far as i can see the threaded inserts are fine i just need two replacement shoulder hinge screws.

Q: Is the FOX Raceframe compatible with Leatt braces?
A: no,i just bought both products and had to send the raceframe back.a guy at motosport said the airframe would work with a leatt so i ordered one of those instead of cutting up a brand new raceframe.

A: Yes. I'm not sure what everyones problem is...i bought a medium and the only modification i had to do to the raceframe was cut the biofoam padding off of the shoulders. No big deal, especially for such an amazing roost guard. I love it!!

A: i have used both and it works perfectly. you can stick the biofoam inside the space between the buckle and the plate that rests on your shoulder. The shoulder pad gets locked in an horizontal position so that it still protects you, but does not interfere with arm movements.
