Q3 sportmax tires

I ride so much street and do about 15 track days a year and these tires are absolutely the best! I have been using them for 3 years straight, I highly recommend!

Best tire so far

I love these tires! I've only been on the highway once with them and was able to do some cornering with ease. Good grip!

Very well designed tire!!!!

I just got this tire put on about 350 miles ago and the bike feels great at handling. It grips up very nice out of turns and gives the rider a better sense of control over the bike. Overall a very good tire and highly recommended.

Dunlop All The Way!!!

I have been using matching sets of Dunlop Z rated tires on my 1991 ZX-11 Ninja since the D201's came out in 1992. After using the D201, 202, 204, 205, 206, 207, and then the Q3 Sportmax...I have to say that they were all great tires. I ride in some of the worst weather around (Idaho), and I ride in snow/ice/rain/wind all year around. These tires work great!

Sticky icky

Way better than Diablo Rosso and better than the Q2"s that I've ran many times. Great ride if you like to ride the rails

Track tire of choice

My buell came with dunlops, wich were fairly worn but I got used to the profile. I tried other brands with different profiles but they felt uncomfortable. I went with the Q2's next and they were a vast improvement.
But now the Q3's are my favorite choice. I push these hard on the track in the intermediate group without the need for warmers and I don't even bother balancing them.
Great in wet weather too. But know these are not high mileage tires nor are they strictly racing tires. But they are a great tire for the money.

Junk tire

I bought a set of Dunlop Sportmax tires for my BMW RT. Here I am, 3,000 miles later buying a new front because of excessive road noise caused by cupping of the tread. Rear tire is wearing flat in the center of the tread already too. I expect to replace it this summer too. But these tires if you like changing them every 6 months or they're a safe bet if you don't ride at all. On the plus side, they do hold air.

Their sticky right out the box. Really do give you more confidence coming to a turn and much more feel of the road over other tires.

Exceptional Tire

Put a set of these on my 2003 CB919 Hornet and turned it into a completely different bike. Super sticky, perfect roll from side to side and even rides decent in the wet. They wear evenly and have exceeded my expectations when it comes to tire life (thought they were gonna wear out super fast). If you have a motorcycle, and you like to go around corners, buy them.

Q: How does this tire compare to Michellin Road 4 to use basic street riding? I have a 2011 Ducati 848?
I have been riding michellin pilot power on my old 2006 gsxr and they were great. Just bought a 2011 ducati 848 with battleax tires I hate. Looking for a smooth ride that has decent cornering ability. I commute to work on the highway about 50 miles a day during summer time in Boston. These two tires seam to come up time and time again as best fit for me.

A: This is not a basic street riding tire, this is a tire designed for the track and modified for street life: harder center compound and water grooves. Longevity is not a consideration with this tire, traction is; that said I've gotten 6k miles out of a set when used on a 600 but 1500 miles on a 1000. If you want to ride hard on the track (or twisties) and use the same bike for riding around town, these are your tires. If you race only, there are better options, and if you commute only, there are better options. This is the ideal tire for the weekend warrior.
Q: Are these tires good for lean angle or cornering? Also is the profile steeper than the michelins. I like an aggressive tire that has a quick turn in

A: Yes the Dunlop's Carbon Fiber Technology (CFT) uses carbon fiber reinforcement in the tire sidewalls for exceptional cornering performance and feel. Feel free to give us a call at 888-676-8853 and we would be happy to help you out with your order.

A: perhaps a little sharper than the pilot sportmax. found them to be friendlier, softer, and overall better than Michelin's.
have ridden sportmax at the track for years but i prefer these on the road and for limited track days, not as many choices on heat ranges as track tires, but these are not as picky about being up to temp before they hold power
Q: Good evening...about to purchase a new set of tires from your site and I'd just like to know about the Q3's speed rating ...

A: The Dunlop Sportmax Q3 Tires are all "Z" rated tires. The tires would be rated for up to 150+ MPH.
Q: Will a rear tire size 200/50ZR17 fit within the stock swingarm of a 98 TL1000R

A: We have the stock tire sizes listed for most all models on our website. Please be sure that you have the proper machine in your “shopping for” selection. We do NOT have a listing of alternative sizes available for your machine. We suggest staying with the stock sizing as changing the size can cause issues with handling, reliability, rubbing and could have adverse effects on performance.
Q: How do these compare with the Q2's or a softer compund Michelin?
A: Same tire as the Q2. The Q3 added carbon fiber to the bead/sidewall to better stiffen it, and reshaped the profile (roundness) to specs they gleaned from being the AMA and Moto2 spec tire. Will you and I notice the difference? Hardly. Is it the best sport tire available from Dunlop? Absolutely. It is an upgrade over the Q2.

Is there any warranty on any type of road hazards like nails or things like this on the tire?
A: Unfortunaletly no, Dunlop does cover for manufacturing defects, and craftsmanship only. I have picked up a nail on the 405 and had to do a patch. Held up fine for a few thousand miles until it was time to change the tires.but dunlop would not cover on warranty.

A: Unfortunately these tires do not carry a warranty for road hazard or puncture damage.
