I got these for Christmas and I have a few complaints. I have twin-wall bars and I got the mounting kit for them, but they didn’t even fit right. I had to push the handgusrds a bit to make them fit. Then the black side plastic didn’t fit right because of how the handgusrds were put on. On my second ride out with them, I was riding on a track, and I washed out on a berm going pretty slow, and the handgusrds cracked on the side. You’d think for something that is supposed to protect against trees and stuff, they would hold up to a little fall in dirt. They do make my bike look sick so gotta add a star there

I have 2 sets of these, they work great with multiple mounting options, but nice strong guards without oem prices.
I am a rookie off-road rider and saying I drop my bike frequently still may be an understatement. These will twist and bend a little when you drop your bike hard enough. The fit is not amazing, but it worked with my factory bars and the u clamps. I think next time I would stick with the metal standard cyrca hand guards, because I do not feel these ones are as strong. They have not cracked or bent, but they definitely shift and move. Maybe I could tighten the brackets up more but I am still wishing I went with the traditional metal bracket ones.
I’ve always used aluminum based handguards but after purchasing a nice new lightweight 350 SXF for aggressive trail riding I didn’t want the added weight. Honestly, if I hit something hard enough to bend these I will not be anywhere near the bike afterward anyway. These are well build and strong. Plus lighter weight and easier to install by more easily confirming to the bar. ...and less expensive to boot—- win, win, win.
Very straightforward design...all plastic (composite) construction. I needed larger diameter washers for the bar end mount than what came with the kit. The guards I used were mounted on my Renthal bars and my triple clamp. I've only had a minor washout accident since these have been installed...they held up to that impact just perfectly. I'm not sure they would protect quite as well as Cyra's aluminum guards but I like that these will not bend and need to be "straightened" out after minor to medium wrecks. I think these are ideal for fast trial riders...maybe not outright racing pace.
These hand guards look great on the bike and do a decent job for bush wacking. However, installing these guards on the bike took hours because of the poor fit. I had to heat up and bend the right guard so it wouldn't cause my throttle to stick. If I could do it over I would buy the aluminum guards for more strength and durability. So beware buyer.
Perfect product for gncc or xc racer, considering these don't only act as handguards, also bark busters.
I have had these hand guards on my YZ250R for 2+ years and they've out-lived 3 sets of bars. They have always taken the abuse of hare scrambles, enduro and woods riding here in Northern California. Light weight and they don't bend, I am very satisfied overall with this product from Cycra!
Used this product in JNCC Race. 1st crash was on gravel road and the right side of the hand guard held up and got scratched.
2nd crash was in rocks on the left side and the guard actually cracked where the bolt goes into the handlebar.
Also cracked where the bolt goes in to secure the guard closer to the cross-pad.

Question answered by MichaelUser's contributor status: Top 10Question answered 1 year 11 months agoAnswer: A: These are the different type of staple mounting kits that Cycra offers with their products. With the Composite Pro Bend, you are offered your choice of their traditional side mount kit, which is a direct mount to where the bar ends would be, or their new design, the front mount kit. Question is, will you go with tried and true, or will you be part of something exciting and new????
