Don't waste your money

I have had these knee braces for about a year and the hinges on both braces have already snapped making the brace useless. I thought the braces would be worth the money and would be well built spending $459, but it was not worth it because of the cheap plastic it is made out of. Spend your money buying better built more durable braces.

First Knee Braces

Good: The Fluid knee braces are comfortable and worked well with my Gearne SG12 boots. Pants were no problem, seems like a low profile design.
Bad: They are sold as small, medium, or large, but they are one universal size with adjustable shims. The straps did not cinch down small enough (14" calf and 17" thigh) for me. If you're not wearing the moto boots, they will slide down your leg.
Overall, they are a decent pair of knee braces. I just had to shorten the straps for my small legs. I rode for about 15 hours so far with them.

Quality product

Bought these to replace old custom braces. Very high quality. Excellent adjustability. They are labeled right and left. I however feel that they fit me better reversed. Perhaps it’s mislabeled but I’d tend to believe that it’s just my wrecked knees and swelling

These are awesome!

I had previously used Astrisk POD braces. I've had 3 sets over the last 10 years and was stuck in a rut of buying what I knew. I took a chance on these braces and I'm so glad I did. Light weight and 10 times more comfortable than the POD's. They stay in place and no rubbing or scuffing. Super thin...much thinner than the POD's.I should have switched long ago. Buy these braces!
I'm giving 5 stars on everything but the durability, I only have about 5-6 rides so I cant speak too much on how they will hold up. Seem tight still and no wear yet.

Very adjustable

I've had these for a few months now and love all the sizing you can do to get the best fit possible. I'm a smaller guy and the only thing I've had to do on these is add a piece of velcro so the strap didn't flap or catch. Best braces I've owned though hands down. Very comfortable.

Good braces

Bought these to replace an older Asterisk cell set. They are lighter and narrower than the asterisk. The Alpinestars are much more customizable than the asterisk. From the rep, the carbon is the set to go with for people with previous surgery. Having blown out a knee before I wanted something to support but not be as bulky as the Asterisk were. I didnt want the full blown carbon and these seemed like a great option and great price point!

Reading the previous review, I would always suggest to use a full length knee brace sock. The sleeves never work and cause any brace to slide around.

These will take a while to fit to you. They have optional shims, different length pieces and inserts for stop adjustments. The first ride out, one side dug into the side of my knee where it was not comfortable. Came back in and swapped out a few piece and the discomfort was gone! They stayed put with the full length knee brace socks and were more comfortable than the older Asterisks. Also they are much less bulky.

bottom line, these do take some time to adjust to you. Once you take the time to adjust/swap and tune them, they work great!

Don't buy!

Bought these a few months ago and finally got to start riding again to try them out.
First ride I had to stop about 1 mile into the trail and switch the braces. They are not marked as left or right. The inside of the knee braces were painful to hug the bike with your knees. Once they were switched it was a little better, however the right one kept sliding down.
Second ride left brace wore a sore on the right side of my left knee cap after 1 hr of trail riding. And in this time I had to keep pulling the right brace back into to correct position. Third ride was yesterday during a 2 hr. hare scramble. I hate these braces! Only got to ride for a hr because of a flat tire, but the right brace again wouldn't stay were it was suppose to be. What's the point of a knee brace if it's not were it's suppose to be? And again after only a hr the left brace wore a spot raw on my left knee cap and this time a spot back on my upper calf and up under the back of the knee. I also noticed yesterday when taking the braces off the thread or stitching was already unraveling. Now this after 3 rides.
I wear under skins and have in the past with my last pair of knee braces and have had no problem. I can't imagine riding with out under skins how raw my legs would be. I wish I had gone back with the old brand of knee braces I've had before. Last pair lasted years, before they finally broke down. I thought I'd spend a little more money this time and upgrade to what I thought would be a better set, but I was wrong. I contacted Motosport and explained my issues with these braces and was informed since I have worn them that there is nothing they can do. Basically I just wasted $450.
Note: The knee braces come with extra parts so you can adjust more to fit your knee. I have tried this will no success. It actually made it worse. The right knee felt like I had a golf ball in the inside of my riding pants as I was trying to grip the bike with my knees.
Save your money and don't buy these braces.
