Maintenance during periods of inactivity
- Allowing your motorcycle to sit for a few days with the battery attached will generally not cause any problems. If the downtime increases to 10 - 15 days, particularly if the motorcycle on which the battery is being used has a high current absorption while the ignition is off we recommend disconnecting the battery cables or using a maintenance charger to avoid deep discharge of the battery. Please note that anti-theft devices generally require the battery to remain connected, so a maintenance charger is advisable.
