The vest is very comfortable to wear and you forget you are wearing it when riding. It does get a little hot when the temps get up but I sweat easy. The vest has great protection coverage and has EC rating which I feel like is good for trail riding. It is hard to get off when sweaty so I wear a shirt under it to help pull it off. The material between pads is thin and feels like it may tear when pulling it off but the shirt under helps.

lightweight, breathable with true fittment. I broke my ribs last season and felt vulnerable until now. I’m a fairly thick guy and took a hit while wearing this gear. It performed beyond my expectations.
Pretty comfortable.barely even notice it while riding.bought after bruised ribs twice in 3 years.haven't had to see if it will do the job of avoiding an injury but it seems to be able to protect very well, like the fact that it covers the ribs on upper sides couldn't find many other options that did so.
Once i get it on its great protection. If you want to take it off, you better get help because its pretty dificult when you are hot and sweaty.
I wear this in addition to my normal chest protector.
Really like it. Ridden in some hot conditions and it doesn't seem to make a huge difference.
Cant speak to the durability yet. I did run it through the washing machine, without removing any of the pads, and it did fine. Just let it air dry.
The shock doctor vest does exactly what I wanted, protects my ribs well, which was the main reason I chose it. But oh man, is it ever difficult to remove without help when you are sweaty. I often had to ask strangers at the track to help lift the back up and help me get this off, even though the large fits fine, a little loose actually. It was so difficult to remove that I completely modified it, cutting it from front collar all the way to waist along a front seam and added velcro tabs to connect it. It was a big hand sewing and glueing project, but it works great this way. I've been using it this way for 6 months on the motocross track, several big crashes and it protects my ribs really well, shoulders too.
FITS TO TRUE XL SIZE , I RODE LAST WEEKEND AND FEELS GREAT ,I HAVEN'T CRASH YET SO I CAN'T SAY ANYTHING ON THAT .
As mentioned by others, most Riding Jackets other little chest protection.
I found out many years ago that can be critical. Have been using Ballistic brand armored shirt under jackets ever since the "cracked ribs" incident.
But in warmer weather I think this Vest is a little cooler. Clavicle and Rib Protection on the sides is better on this Vest. Highly recommend wearing Vest under more abrasion resistant jacket.
I often rode without chest protection because every brand/option I have tried either provided so little protection as to make me feel that wearing it was useless, or proved so uncomfortable (especially with an hydration pack on) as to give me cause to "forget" it often. The Skock Doctor BP7850 is more comfortable than any chest protector I have worn before, and it provides more protective coverage. Nursing broken ribs for the second time in three years, I plan on testing its its capabilities. Also a plus is that it fits. I am a little bigger than may riders (230 pounds. 41 inch chest) and consequently have trouble findi g specialty farmers (( best protectors, wet suits, etc.) that fit.
The item was there almost 2 days after placing the order. One of the sale representatives called to confirm the order was correct beforehand! I was very pleased with the service and will buy from them again.
Good alternative to body under especially in hot weather conditions, much lighter too. Also supports the Leatt neck brace quite well. Highly recommend!
First of all it was on backorder for almost 5 months, but when I finally got it I was pleased with how light and breathable it is. The picture makes it seem like more of a thicker almost one price foam, when it is more of a mesh deal with lots of seperate almost block like pads
super comfy n good protection, good alternative if you dont like regular chest protectors.
Very comfortable to ride in. Seems like very good protection that will absorb the impact of a fall.
