Valve Shims

This valve shim kit is excellent. I couldn't believe all the shims included. All shims nicely marked with the size, and they mic'ed out to what they said. Did a quick job of shimming one valve was to go race, but now I have all the one's to do a better job with soon.

Beats buying OEM individually

These installed in my '06 Yamaha FZ1 very well. Buying the kit is way cheaper than buying individually, especially since you might need a different one than you though. Trust me, but a kit! The OEM parts do install a little easier though, as they have a very slight edge break, whereas these parts don't and don't fit into the valve quite as easy. Still work fine.

Are these kits totally universal between all bikes and brands or will I need .different kits for each bike?

The kits are sold in 2 different sizes for most all popular bikes out there currently. The smaller is generally for the 250F bikes and the larger size is for the 450F bikes. I would suggest to look up the correct diameter of shim you need for your bike before ordering. Also, feel free to give us a call at 888-676-8853 and we would be happy to help you out with your order.

Could you please tell me the shim thicknesses that are supplied with this kit and if they are in a container.?
Looking for the shim thicknesses so that the adjustment can be more precise. Not like the HotCam set that is in increments of .05mm. I will need from .185 to .209. Thanks.

It's pretty much the same as the HotCams kit i believe, with a few more sizes I think in this kit. .05mm increments is the standard as far as I know. Yes, these come in a container organized just like the HotCams kit.

This kit would include 7.48mm diameter shims in sets of three from 1.20mm to 3.50mm at .05 increments (47 sizes).
