Alpinestars Tech-10 Boots - Main
zoom: +

Product Description

  • Alpinestars built the Tech 10 boots leaving nothing behind in arguably the most technologically advanced boot on the market.
  • The Tech 10 boots have been designed to offer the highest level of safety without compromising comfort. Alpinestars was able to accomplish this with their revolutionary dual hinged inner brace. By placing a dual hinge point on the inner brace of the Tech 10 boots, Alpinestars brings the support closer to your ankle with optimum protection. Getting all this protection doesn't sacrifice the free flow motion thanks to years of development. Alpinestars designed the exterior of the brace out of polyurethane while the interior features a poly fabric lining with open cell foam to absorb shock to the ankle and heal. The ultra thin and flexible forefoot allows for control feedback to easily flow through the Tech 10 boots.
  • The ultra low profile design of the outer shell of the Tech 10 boots allows for additional control. The slim design of the Tech 10 boots also shaves weight off and increases flexibility.
  • Alpinestars developed a rear polyurethane spine that helps keep the Tech 10 boots from hyperextension.
  • The full-grain leather upper of the Alpinestars Tech 10 boots break in quickly. This feature paired with the impact and abrasion resistant polyurethane provide a high level of safety. The Tech 10 boots have polyurethane protection on the toes, foot, heel, ankle, calf and shin with extra hard compounds on the toe-box, heel and Achilles tendon.
  • The sole construction of the Alpinestars Tech 10 boots offer a dual compound design that offers a sure foot grip where its needed and a rigid platform for extra protection.
  • The advanced closure system on the Tech 10 include 3 techno-polymer and aluminum buckles that have memory positioning and quick release/locking system that self-align. The self-aligning buckles make it simple and easy to operate.
  • Alpinestars uses a combination of full-grain leather and polyurethane panels to provide maximum grip while offering heat and abrasion resistance.
  • The opening of the Tech 10 boots are lined with a polyurethane gasket to keep the water out.
  • Alpinestars offers their airflow ventilation system on the white model of the Tech 10 boots.

You get what you pay for with Alpinestars
I got a pair of Tech 10s when they first came out at the end of 2007. I have been riding in the same pair every week since. These are fantastic boots! I love their fit and durabilty! When you are ready for a resole, you just ship them to Alpinstars in Torrance and they will do leather stitching, buckle replacement, and complete resole along with return shipping for $80.00! They cost more than the other brands, but the longevity of these boots is unbeatable. The only problem I have ever had with them is that after a year or two, the buckles come undone and dont lock down all the way anymore. Everything else is fantastic!

Good boot, poor durability
Had these boots for less than half a year and 2 straps broke along with the clip for the top strap. The straps do not adjust very easily and are difficult to snap in. Boots are very stylish and comfortable but are WAYY over priced. Bought Gaerne sg12's to replace them and am very pleased.

Needs Improvement
The Tech 10 isn't an all bad boot. The problem I've found for several pairs I've owned is the top strap. It doesn't line up and isn't easy to buckle. What has happen to all three of my pairs of Tech 10's is, the receiver portion gets messed up and stops locking the strap. I end up using duct tape on the top buckle to hold it locked closed and tight. They do hold up well, fit good, and protect your foot, ankle and lower leg. Alpinestar will do a refurbish on a pair of boots for less than a $100 bucks. New soles, and straps, etc. However, if the strap located on the exterior of the heel of the boot breaks, they wont touch them. I don't see them fixing the problem for me. I don't have a lot of options for a HIGH PERFORMANCE boot in my size :-( I might try and shove on a SIDI SRS size 13 and see what happens. I hear great things from all my friends running on SIDI boots. I give my TECH 10 a One Star because I have to duct tape the boot to make it work.

Best boot ever
These boots break in well. Alpine star product support is second to none. They can replace almost any part of boot from buckles , soles and inner booty. We get 2 or more years out of them and we are on them 2 or more days a week between practices and races.

Tech 10
It took me a little bit to decide if i should do these or the tech 8. And 100% happy with my decision. I wished i would have bought the exact size i wear unlike how there know for going one size up. This model boot is true to fit so if your a 11 get a 11.... I had a little defect with the boot and this Motosports is just amazing on taking care of there customers. They got on it right away, and had new inner booties out before i new it.... Great Job!!!! I highly recommend doing business with motYoosports and highly recommend these boots.

I would read the reviews and make the decision for yourself. everyone has different opinions and experiences so it's tough to say what's "best". also if you can go and try some one to see what fits you best, I would highly recommend that.

the tech 10's soles seems to wear out faster but for 80 dollars u can have them resoled, durability wise tech 10's last a very long time, i had the 1st generation tech 10's for 3 years while the steel toe and screws started to fall outa my friends sg12's after 6 months, and comfort hands down goes to tech 10's, they feel like a temprapedic mattress for your feet

Will size 11 booty fit in size 10 boot?
Over 3 years ago Location: Greenville, SC
The size 11 booty will be too big for the size 10 boot.
2 years 11 months ago
yes but would be fairly uncomfortable because the end wouldnt have enough room so it would make wrinklyes

no, not unless u take a knife and cut a tip off
2 years 9 months ago Location: farmington CT
it might fit if you jam it in, but i dont recommend it because it will prob be uncomftorble and agitating. keep the botty sized to the boot size

About how much do these weigh?
they are kindof a heavy set of boots but not to bad for medium rides
2 years 11 months ago
if you were to lift them they actually feel heavy but as a rider that uses these boots, i have no complaints about weight at all

My shoe size is 9.5, should I go with a size 9 or 10 in these boots?
MotoSport Staff Best Answer
Over 3 years ago Location: P+RTLAND
If you run a half size, your best bet is to go with the next size up.
Over 3 years ago Location: MD
i wear a 9 to 9.5 and i got 10 and they were to big so i got a 9 an they fit just right
Over 3 years ago Location: Greenville, SC
You'd want to go one size bigger than you normal shoe size.
2 years 11 months ago
my shoe is a 9 and my tech 10s are size 10, but the inner boot fits snug enough to where it doesnt feel akward wall shifting or anything

i wear a 11.5 in mens and i got 12's they are a little big but ive never missed my shift, i would go with 10
2 years 10 months ago Location: Irvine,CA
go 10.5 they run a half size bigger
2 years 10 months ago
10 for something to grow into
2 years 9 months ago Location: farmington CT
go with size 10, because your foot is bound to grow, and if there a little big then just throw some thicker socks on cuz you can always add thickness to your foot with socks, but you cant shave part of your foot off for a smaller boot, lol

What It Is

Introduced to the public in 2005, the Alpinestars Tech 10 has under gone continual upgrades throughout th past three years. In fact, the current Tec 10 is much, much different than the ver sion that we initially tested in late 2004 so we figured it was time to give them second look.

Hits

Thanks to improved side pads in the ankle area, the new Tech 10 provides ample support, yet nice flexion once the boots break in. Aggressive gripper pads on the insides of the ankle make gripping your motorcycle easy, resulting in greater control. The toe box has been slenderized, making them easier to feel the shifter through. The new torsion bars on the inner bootie are less restrictive and much more comfortable than the originals that we tested three years ago. The new bootie has a taller, more padded tongue that is very plush and comfy.

Misses

The Tech 10 is a very stiff boot when new, and required a couple days of riding before they were comfortable. The buckles are hard to completely snap shut; especially the top buckle, because the boot is more flexible there and it is hard to apply proper pressure to it.

The Verdict

As it has been from the start, the Alpinestars Tech 10 remains a different feeling boot that certain riders will love, and other riders will dislike. Engineered to the moon, there is plenty of protection built in to the Tech 10; we just wish there was more comfort involved.
