Q: How is that item wired to the bike harness?
1 year 4 months ago
Hi, the regulator has 4 wires, 2x yellow (AC, ground free), black (GND) and red (Battery charging). Where is the switched output of the relay that is built-in according to the description? Or is the picture not the described item? I may be interested in that regulator for the Africarce (www.africarace.com). Thanks! Regards Thomas

A: Unfortunately that part will not work as a direct OEM replacement. Trail Tech’s regulators are designed to work with their stators and will not be able to simply bolt up to your existing system. If you are having electrical issues and are in need of a replacement regulator, I suggest you get an upgraded electrical system which will give you 100w of DC power allowing you to run LED or HID lighting. I believe the cost of this kit is still going to be cheaper then purchasing an OEM reg/rec. http://www.trailtech.net/S-8503.html
