OEM chain guide is more durable

I have had 3 maybe 4 races and a few rides with this on my yz250f, thought it would be a good upgrade from stock but was mistaken. It wore down so quickly. I race GNCC and Harescrambles and have got a whole season in out of a stock chain guide. T.M. Designs will replace it as you see the warranty listed in the description, but this is a PRORATED warranty which means you will have to pay a certain amount, depending on the amount of wear on it. Not too happy with the attitude of the customer support. But great service from Motosport!

Lightweight and Stylish

This product looks good and is very lightweight. Installation was easy with included mounting hardware and because of the two piece design there is no need to remove the chain. I will note that the lower ware pad is not replaceable but it's pretty thick so it should last a long time. I saw some reviews about these breaking under heavy abuse but personally I would rather it break than bend the swing arm mounting bracket which is what happen with my OE guide causing even more damage to the guide and chain.

Perfect so far!

Installed it on a '10 CRF 250F with ease. Perfect fit. I only have two hours on it so its hard to say how it will hold up. It's a little noisy from the chain rub and the noise takes some getting used to. But works perfectly!

Can this be installed without breaking the chain?
I want to install my new chain while I'm waiting for this to come off back order but don't want to break (unrivet) the chain to install this guide.

Since the chain runs through the slide n guide, you will have to break the chain to slip it through.

you dont need to break the chaine. the top part of the guide comes off and you just slip in under the chaine and bolt it onto the swingarm

It's a two piece design so there is not need to break or even remove the chain. I install mine in about 5min on my CRF450R. It comes with the mounting hardware just be sure to use a little Locktite!

After reading the reviews (which is one of the reasons I shop here), is the guide supposed to come with the hardware or does the stock hardware fit?
