Should the bottom of the pants be at the ankle? or higher up to accommodate for knee gaurds?

The height of the pants at the ankle will vary depending on height. I am fairly tall but thin so my pants tend to end and inch or two above my ankles. It really wont have an effect on the knee pads as the pads typically strap to your leg and having boots on will also help keep the knee pads located.
