i ordered this product for my 2003 ltz400. i received it and went to put it on and realized the cable was entirely to long. i don't know if it was just the wrong cable but it kept me off my quad for another week. motosport did do a good job with the return and sending me a new one.
first ride this thing was stretched out . month later i measure to a new stock cable this cable and it was an 1 1/4 longer already.
Bought it for my '03 400ex and works just perfect. Looks and pulls way better than OEM. I'm going to put one on my banshee after this season.
this cable is sweet its steel braded casing looks awesome and the pull is so smoothe this cable works
i got one for my 98 banshee and it looks and feels amazing i will be buying one for my trx450 and kfx400
Good replacement cable with extra clearance
Very Smooth cable. Much beter than the OEM one I pulled off.
looks slick, pulls easier, easy install and longer for my +2 steering stem with atv high bend bars
i bought this cable for my 400ex, turns out its too long, don't know what im going to do DON"T BUY IT FOR A 400EX .
This thing is serious.
Best clutch cable I have purchased, when i first received product you could even see the difference in the line and how much of a difference the braiding of the cable itself was very strong .
follow these steps and you should be able to make it work.
1. Buy some zip ties that match the color of your plastics.
2. Start from the perch by the clutch not the one on the handlebars.
3.From the perch just screw it in loosely then run it through the middle of your headers and straight up to where the spark plug wire goes to the engine there should be part of the frame right there ZIPTIE it to that bar so that it does not rub or is to close to the pipes.
4. After that your gonna need to run it past the right side of the oil cooler ( looks like a radiator but smaller ) there should be another piece of framing there you can attach it to so that iy wont rub on the oil cooler if it does rub you will have about three weeks before its time to buy a new oil cooler as it is very dense metal.
5. When these steps are completed you should have compensated for the extra 2 inches the cable has on it and you can go ahead and attach it to your lever and tighten it down to your liking.
TIP IF YOU MAKE IT TIGHT ENOUGH TO WHERE THE QUAD IS OFF AND YOU CAN PUT THE QUAD IN FIRST GEAR THEN PULL THE CLUTCH IN AND YOUR QUAD ROLLS THEN IT IS CORRECTLY ON. :)
HAVE A GOOD DAY- BEN
