Looks great, is way too long

...bought this clutch cable with confidence for my 06yfz450 with +1'' steering stem...thank god i didnt ditch my old stocker...got to my fav atv park to make the swap, bout ruined my weekend , but...ordering an OEM now...i can understand the cable being longer(i need the extra length)....but the actual cable inside is way toooo longggg...even with it fully tightenend...it.looks soo good though!..just make sure you got your ducks in a row before you buy...i give it 3 stars because it looks good, and got here quick, and motosport.com is awesome

Be carefull

i ordered this product for my 2003 ltz400. i received it and went to put it on and realized the cable was entirely to long. i don't know if it was just the wrong cable but it kept me off my quad for another week. motosport did do a good job with the return and sending me a new one.

THIS THING IS SERIOUS!!

This thing is serious.
Best clutch cable I have purchased, when i first received product you could even see the difference in the line and how much of a difference the braiding of the cable itself was very strong .

A: To ensure longevity of your cable you should always lube it from time to time.

Q: Will this fit a 400ex with +2 steering stem, or will it still be to long, running protaper conture bars not high bars?

A: i doubt it. its going to be a stock length, so you would have to figure out if your current cable could stretch two more inches and still be able to turn bars all the way.

A: Jimmie I have a modified version of the 2002 trx 400 ex. It is 2 IN. longer then oem or motion pro cables but there is a way to do it I had the same problem with mine but knew what i was buying.

follow these steps and you should be able to make it work.

1. Buy some zip ties that match the color of your plastics.

2. Start from the perch by the clutch not the one on the handlebars.

3.From the perch just screw it in loosely then run it through the middle of your headers and straight up to where the spark plug wire goes to the engine there should be part of the frame right there ZIPTIE it to that bar so that it does not rub or is to close to the pipes.

4. After that your gonna need to run it past the right side of the oil cooler ( looks like a radiator but smaller ) there should be another piece of framing there you can attach it to so that iy wont rub on the oil cooler if it does rub you will have about three weeks before its time to buy a new oil cooler as it is very dense metal.

5. When these steps are completed you should have compensated for the extra 2 inches the cable has on it and you can go ahead and attach it to your lever and tighten it down to your liking.

TIP IF YOU MAKE IT TIGHT ENOUGH TO WHERE THE QUAD IS OFF AND YOU CAN PUT THE QUAD IN FIRST GEAR THEN PULL THE CLUTCH IN AND YOUR QUAD ROLLS THEN IT IS CORRECTLY ON. :)

Q: Longer then OEM?
I ride a YF450 2006 and I just purchased a longer steering stem. +1.5 Just wondering if this cable is longer then OEM? If not. I was told that if i bought the one for a 700 raptor that one would fit and is longer then the yfz450 cable and would work? Is this True?? I need a new clutch cable that is a couple inches longer. Please Help.
