Shoei X-11

Some what new to road riding but have ridden dirt bikes, mountain bikes and have skied with helmets over the years, I feel this is my favorite head protection device. Light weight, fits like it was made for me, and it looks like I have a choice of sheilds and other cool stuff. I feel I have a good situational awareness as it is easy to move my head at speed and provides good airflow to clear the screen in the colder weather. Have not been out in the heat with it yet. The only thing I can think of is that is seams loud at times at speed, but part of me likes that too. I have not started riding with ear plugs.

Q: How aerodynamically stable is this helmet?
I have a big problem with helmets getting blown around in the wind (usually at 90+ mph) ... I can't seem to go faster than 125 mph on southern california freeways without my head whipping side to side so bad that I have to slow down because I don't feel like I can maintain control... I'm looking for a helmet that doesn't jerk SIDE TO SIDE... any suggestions? BTW I currently have a Scorpion helmet... not sure what model it is... decent one though. It's all black, lots of ventilation... I paid about $200 for it

A: I'd recommend the Bell Star helmet. Bell does a lot of wind tunnel testing and I've heard its very stable at high speed.
