Q: Help with tire size?
I have a 02 Vulcan nomad. It has 150/80/16 tires on the front and back. I would like to go just a little bit skinner on the front. and if possible just a little bit wider on the back. and I want to keep the rear tire with a higher profile than the front. what size tires do you suggest ? thanks for your time. matt

A: We have the stock tire sizes listed for most all models on our website. Please be sure that you have the proper machine in your “shopping for” selection. We do NOT have a listing of alternative sizes available for your machine. We suggest staying with the stock sizing as changing the size can cause issues with handling, reliability, rubbing and could have adverse effects on performance.

Q: What brand of tire will give us more then one season on tread?
We have been running dunlops and they go after only one season. Would like a tire with good traction for a large cruiser bike, that we don't have to sell a kidney for to be able to afford. suggestions?

A: For your Venture, since it is such a large bike, you need to stick with a good tire otherwise they are going to wear incredibly quick. Bang for your buck on mileage, i would look at the Metzeler ME880's. They have correct load ratings for your bike so they wont wear prematurely from being overloaded, and they are known to be one of the higher mileage tires. Initially the cost may be higher but will save you money in the long run due to the longevity.
