Kfx 400

Love the adjustability and power out put was great with all my other mods on my 2003 Kfx 400,but it only lasted a summer then it became hard starting and over fuelled the engine thought it was carb issues, back fire with flame out the pipe a new battery had helped but I installed the oem rev box and would rather it be reliable than extra powerful.if you got money to waste then I'd give it a try but don't throw the oem box out!!

Great deal!

I got this for my crf 150f and it works great! Very easy to install, does increase the rev limit to a decent extent, and has a tiny bit more throttle response. Gave my bike a good over-rev for coming out of corners, because my bike doesnt have the best low end punch its good for keeping the engine in high rpms.Great buy for $60!

A 5 minute upgrade

A snap to install and started right up . Increases the upper rpm's. Only thing different is that it is a different size than stock so it may bounce around a bit.

Rev max rules!

My 2002 XR400 had a flat spot in the bottom end. I installed the box, which took all of about 30 seconds. It now starts easier, and the flat spot when I gun it at low r's is gone!

Big Power Increase

I was hesitant to buy this product becasue of the past reviews. I own a TRX450 and a CRF450 and bought one for both. I was very concerned because when I first installed it on the TRX450, it took forever to get it to start. Usually this bike startes on the second kick. After about 20 kicks, it started and I rode it for an hour. WOW !! it was like night and day especially with a difference in second and third gear. Now it starts normally just like before. I can't explain why it worked like that, only that is how it worked. For the CRF450, same install and start proceedure, but OMG the throttle response was off the charts. I had a buddy ride it for review as well because he has rode my bike a lot in the past and he was more impressed than I was !!

Not so good product

plugged it into the bike (kx250f) and the bike would not run... plugged back in the stock ignition and it started first kick, may just be a faulty unit but im not sure.

Good Buy

This product worked very weel with the powernow valve. I also had a fmf 4.1 pipe on, the bike was smoother and more tractable.

A: Haven't heard of that issue before. Have you tried putting your stock unit back on and see if the fan turns back on? If the fan turns back on with your OEM unit, give us a call and we will see what we can do with that rev box.

A: yes this will help. it will feel like you got a extra exhaust back there, alot more bottom end an mid range power and u can gain extra speed. and also u can gain between 750-1000 rpm's depending on what u have already done.

Q: Which is better for my 03 400ex, big gun or hi rev rev box?
I bought a rev box for my 2003 400ex from honda dealer last month. Great throttle response, but i tried my buddys White Brothers rev box on my quad & WOW! Torque everywhere! Im very disapointed with mine now. Need more power. Which has more 2 offer? By the way Whte Brothers went out of business!?

A: I would recommend the Big Gun Rev Box over the Rev Max: http://www.motosport.com/dirtbike/product/BIG-GUN-REV-BOX/?prodId=925119&sMMY=HONDA;TRX400EX;2003&

Also WB did go out of business.

A: This allows you to rev the motor further than the stock CDI box. which means more power.

Q: Should i.....?
should i put a rev box or rev max on a honda crf230f because i dont want something to happen like not start but i want the power out of it
Shorty99
Over 7 years ago Location: Davenport,IA
A: I wouldn't the thing is junk on the top end of your motor. I was thinking the same as you a little more power. I would spend your money on something else. jet kit, stage 1 hot cam, bigger back spocket. Anything but the rev box. And if you do try it save your receipt. It cuts out your motor on top end.

A: I would opt for the BBR rev box. Just for the simple fact they specialize in mini's bike parts.

Q: If this product only increases the rev limiter and doesn't remap the fuel or ignition, than do I need to do it myself by adjusting my TFI box?
and or should i get a spark enhancer to help if I do need to increase the fuel to make up for adding the extra rpm's?
Drewski
MotoSport Staff
Over 7 years ago Location: Portland, OR
A: Since your bike is fuel injected it should automatically adjust to changes made by the rev box. A spark enhancer and remapping the TFI would be optional to obtain max performance but the stock unit should adjust enough to compensate for the added RPM.

A: Both are good products and function pretty much the same as each other so it's going to be your pick over all. Personally I would run the BBR
