REPLACEMENT for OEM 1991 Cr80 hub & Rim

Just recieved these today for a 1991 cr80 I'm restoring. Quality is good, but the the spokes will not fit the stock oem hub out of the pack. I'd say they are a mm or so to big so I'll just drill out the hub. The nips are a really tight fit in the std did rim so they may need attension also. Other than that they are a lot cheaper than OEM spokes

Great spokes

Only knocked off one star for 'ease of install' because I had trouble lacing the rim being it was my first time. These spokes fit perfect on OEM Honda CR250R hubs, front 21" Excel front and 19" rear Pro Wheel with stock hub. Definitely thicker and appear more durable vs old seized spokes. These work great! Happy so far.

Obvious Upgrade from OEM

I've been running Pro-Wheel Rims, Spokes, etc for years & after reading the last two reviews I had to post. First of all, buying spokes that are thicker & more durable than stock isn't a waste of money. Yes, you may have to make your spoke holes a little bigger to fit a better spoke, but is that really a negative thing? "I had a rowboat in my driveway, now I have to make more room since I got a 23 foot wakeboard boat. What a waste." Second, you should check new spokes/nipples after the first 15 minutes of riding, not after an hour. By then I bet almost all the ones that broke were loose for awhile & when you tightened them after an hour, they were already done. Just sayin, great product when installed & maintained properly!!

Waste of time.

wont fit in stock hub. waste of money. hub needs to be drilled out for each spoke to fit or hub needs to be aftermarket oversized. very unhappy

Tucson, AZ

Laced them up and 1 jump did them in ( 8 of them the be exact, at once...), even after checking the first hour for proper torque.
Wheel survived, not a pro wheel, and Bill at Motosport is doing me right, however :)

2 of the casualties, notice the break point.

Q: Compatability?

Would I be able to lace these spokes to a 18 x 2.15 warp 9 rear rim and a 21 x 1.6 warp 9 front rim with tusk impact hubs? I am trying to do a custom wheel set for my dirtbike.. If this combination won't work with these spokes what spokes would work?

A: You have to select the correct size in the pull down menu to get the correct Pro Wheel spoke kit. The Pro Wheel spokes are designed to work in the stock hubs.
Q: I was wondering if these spokes could also be used on the rear rim, I ask this because I am wondering what is the difference between wheel spokes?

A: I would not recommend using these as Rear Spokes. Normally Rear Spoke are a bit thicker than front spokes to compensate for the force exerted on the rear wheel during acceleration and braking.
Q: I have a 2009 kx250f, will I have to drill out my rim?

Q: Will these work on oem hub with a pro wheel rim?

the spokes i had were spline drive, im guessing excel.. which stripped out cause of the fine thread. hopefully the hole size is the same.

A: This spoke kit will only work with the stock/oem hub and rim. From what I know about Talon hubs is they don't offer a direct OEM type replacement. Talon uses a different series Excel rim that is not the same as OEM. With that said I wouldn't suggest using this spoke kit. I would look into a set of bulldog spokes if they still offer them. Unfortunately we do not carry bulldog spokes.

I was wondering if these will fit the oem 19" front rim, or do they need to be laced to a Pro Wheel rim for proper fitment ?

A: It will be a complete kit for the front wheel so the amount of spokes vary depending on the bike.
