This tire is amazing. I can't count the number of times I thought I was going down, only to have this tire catch traction and straighten me back out at the last minute. I may experiment with different back tires but this one has earned a permanent place on the front of my bike.

I've always been a fan of the XCMS front and decided to give the rear a try. GREAT TIRE! I've had this on my bike all over Virginia riding hare scrambles and in the sand in Sumter at the enduro and this tire does great everywhere! I'll be buying another one of these when this one finally wears out.
This tire performs great but I have gotten 3 flats in a very short time. My mechanic who runs this tire said to run 14-15 psi because it’s a soft tire, so I did. I got two flats with 14-15 psi and one flat with 12 psi. There were no defects with my wheel, rim lock or rim strap so there was no obvious reason why my tube kept pinching. However the tire performed great in almost all types of terrain, loved the performance. I would recommend this tire to a friend unless I hear more of the same from other people.
I have been running the Pirelli tires for years. I find the Pirelli tire offer greater grip in all terrain. The Mid Soft tires do wear out fast, what tier doesn't. Even a worn Pirelli has better grip than any other.
Overall excellent tire. I have run several sets of the Pirelli XCMS front and rear. Traction characteristics are predictable with excellent all around performance. These tires wear well and maintain good traction until, more-or-less, worn out. Installation on the XCMS tire is easy. I mount all my own tires and have tried all the major brands at one time or another. WILL buy again, and DO recommend to friends.
ONE OF THE BEST IF NOT THE BEST FRONT TURNING TIRES I HAVE EVER RIDDEN ON. ENDURO RIDERS NEED TO UP THE PRESSURE A LITTLE.
Easy to mount...excellent traction...what more could you ask for? Gets great traction in the typical Florida sugar sand, to the rare blue groove rocky stuff. Can't say anything better!!
I've been running MT32/XCMS tires since 1994 (roughly). The tread lasts a while and keeps on grabbing. The tread actually outlasts the sidewalls. That's why I gave it only 4 stars for durability. My friends have the same problems with the XCMS and the MT16. BUT, these are the best tires on the market for what we do here in Hawai‘i. That is why we tolerate the susceptible sidewalls.
Conservatively, I get a good 30-40 hours of tight trail riding abuse out each back tire, probably more. This is not bad at all for a back tire of a trail bike.
