Lightweight mesh jacket

Me: 6’2, 180 lbs. 33” sleeve measurement, 40” chest, 34” waist.

Fit: My measurements all fit into the medium on the sizing chart except for my height. I found that the medium jacket was a snug but comfortable fit over a t-shirt – the protective parts in the shoulders and elbows felt like they were held in place on my body properly. The only thing (which you can see in the photo), is that the jacket is not very long.

I took this jacket for a spin on an overcast 65 degree day. With the windproof liner installed I felt comfortable for a while, but could tell that I would get cold eventually. The liner really does block the wind, because without it air flows through the jacket like you weren’t even wearing one. With the liner out I got chilly immediately, which tells me this would be ideal for those 80+ degree days. Of course, you need to be moving for it to be effective, standing around or sitting in traffic for a while will make you sweat no-matter what you’re wearing.

I also tried this out with Pilot’s Core chest protector. The chest protector is attached with Velcro to one side of the front zipper. Obviously this made it a little more awkward to zip up every time, but this is one of the few jackets available that has the option. Because the chest protector sits behind part of the mesh panels in front it is going to decrease the airflow through the jacket, but the tradeoff for increased protection is probably worth it.

I don't own any other mesh jackets so I don't have a good reference point, but I think for the asking price that this is a quality jacket that looks good and does what it says.
