Very comfortable boot

I have not worn the boot yet, because I am returning my size 13 for a 14 exchange. However, my review is based on my observations and what I've gathered from previous reviews. I think this boot is extremely comfortable; the hinge feels great in terms of the balance of flex and protection. The ratcheting system works well, although I can see how it can get stuck or break from mud building up on it; it allows for tightening up the mid boot for great comfort. My only problem with the size 13 is that the right size fits too tight; the left side fits fine and I don't think think that my feet are that different from each other. It's probably a manufacturing anomaly. I'd try these size 13 boots, but fear that they would not break in fully and stretch a tad bit lengthwise; then, I'd be stuck with worn boots that are too small. I am looking forward to getting my 14s.

Quality bad for the price

Ran fox comp 5 boots, would get about a year out of a pair and worn soles only, bought these and first ride, whole side latch broke out of boot, continued using and sides worn threw boot in one month, scraped up frame on my bike, ankle hinge broke also, poor poor quality, dont buy!! highly dissapointed for the Money almost twice the cost of Fox

Great Boot for large calves

I ordered this boot a few weeks ago, I have very large calves and couldn't find a boot. A friend told me about these and when they got here, they were the first boot that I was able to buckle all of the way. They seem to be durable and comfortable. Great Boot for someone with large calves!! Very reasonably priced for the boot!

Great Boot for the Price!

I'm very happy with these boots! They are super comfortable and for me, there was no break in time! The first time I wore them, I never even missed a shift! I really like the ratchet buckle on these boots, they are easy and hold my heal in the boot great! The ankle support is phenomenal, definitely worth the money! My only worry with these boots was how they were going to fit. I asked around, but couldn't find too much information on the sizing. I wore a size 11 in Alpinestars, and I ordered a size 11 and they are pretty close to perfect fit! Try them on if you have the chance! Awesome boot!

Over priced for what they are

They look awesome.
bought them for the hinged ankle.
Sole is strong and provides comfortable surface to stand on / good contact with pegs.

Plastic shell is thin, and too flexible.
Not much padding on ankle and leg, causing pinch points from buckles, but is not unbearable.
Toe box is quite large, makes for difficult up shift.

OVERVIEW: This is a low end boot with with a hinge. It looks awesome, but did not reach my expectations on comfort and durability. I feel this boot should be in the $250 price range. The ratchet buckle was a innovative idea, but is a pain and needs to go.

A: This would be the O'Neal 2015 RDX Boots the Tech series is made by Alpinestars.

Q: Wondering if they have a wider toe box? I have wide feet and smaller toe boxes kills my feet...?

I am sponsored by O'Neal so I figured I would ask the question before I placed my order with O'neal themselves.... Thanks for what ever you could tell me

A: From what I can tell the O'Neal RDX boots would have a standard sized toe box. The only boots I know if that would have a "low profile" toe box would be the Alpinestars Tech-10 Boots and the Fox Instinct Boots.

A: I think the toe box is average sized. I've never had a problem with other boot's toe boxes fitting too small, and this one fits me well.
