Shoulder pads are slim and have good coverage over shoulder bones but are noticeable with water pack on. Brest plates are thick and seem like they would offer superior protection. They sit at slight angles pushing out with the center where zip is. Kinda strange. They are not flexible and there is no sternum protection behind zip. Back protector is thicker in the middle on spine and thinner on the sides but seems like excellent protection. It's length leaves part of the lower back exposed a little. Side protection is just thin foam but it may be memory impact foam but I can't tell. Jacket fabric is a little itchy but I forgot about it when riding. Elbow pads slip down if not zipped in. It seems as there are crumple zones in the chest and back plates that would slow the impact and the high quality plastic and impact foam would protect the body very well. Overall jacket has a good quality and design for the body armor category but there is always room for improvement in functionality and protection in armor."
