Most Recent Helmets and Accessories Reviews

Bell Shorty Helmet Bell Shorty Helmet Bell Shorty Helmet JAMonit (NY) Great retro helmet "I bought this helmet at the same time I got the Bell Evo and this thing is so ..." "I bought this helmet at the same time I got the Bell Evo and this thing is so comfortable! It's lightweight and will be great for warmer weather. Throw on some aviators and look like a cop if you want. My one complaint is the removable is not my favorite though. I don't like how it has snaps so when you remove it they are visible. Other than that I love it!"

Bell Vortex Helmet - Flying Tiger Bell Vortex Helmet - Flying Tiger Bell Vortex Helmet - Flying Tiger Turtlechaser (Biddeford, ME, USA) Awesome value in a Snell approved helmet "I waited to review this helmet until I had adequate time to ride with it. It fits ..." "I waited to review this helmet until I had adequate time to ride with it. It fits slightly snug in the face cheek area, and I am thin. It is very comfortable to wear though. The vents open and close easily while worn. I've worn this helmet in temperatures down as low as about 38 degrees fahrenheit and I don't recommend using it below about 45 degree unless you tape the vents closed. There are 2 open exhaust vents in the rear of the helmet which do not close. It has rectangles rather than D rings for strap fastening, and I find them more cumbersome to unfasten. The extension tab to loosen the strap does work well enough though. I find the rectangular rings more cumbersome to connect to some bike helmet holders too and prefer a D ring design. The dangling strap hold down is magnetic, and is a great feature that is very quick and easy to use to prevent getting beat up by the unused length of the helmet strap when at speed. I wish more helmets had this magnetic system. The graphics are unique and very high quality in a flat finish for the Flying Tiger scheme. Top this off with Snell safety rating and it's really hard to find as good a value in a helmet anywhere near this price point anywhere. The shield system works great too. It's amazingly easy and fast to change shields without tools. And the availability of an optional photochromic shield that lightens in dark and darkens in sun is just awesome. The Bell Vortex is an awesome helmet value."

Bell Revolver Evo Modular Helmet Bell Revolver Evo Modular Helmet Bell Revolver Evo Modular Helmet JAMonit (NY) Great buy! "I wasn't originally going to buy a modular helmet, but after talking to a few other ..." "I wasn't originally going to buy a modular helmet, but after talking to a few other riders they seemed more convenient to use. Bell does one thing and does it well, which is why I decided to buy from them. They are also a great value. I didn't feel like paying more than double the price for a Shoei either. The helmet fits great and is very comfortable. Just follow the size chart and you should be fine. It looks just as slick as a normal full face, but if you need to itch your face or are just hot waiting at a red light just pull up the front rather than taking off the entire helmet. Motosport was great too as they seem to be one of the few companies that will exchange a helmet, not that I needed to. The shipping was fast and customer service e-mailed me back within the hour to answer some questions before I purchased anything."

Bell RS-1 Helmet - Emblem Bell RS-1 Helmet - Emblem Bell RS-1 Helmet - Emblem FZ111 (Walpole, NH, USA) Bell RS-1 Helmet - Emblem "I haven't owned a BELL helmet in years. I had forgotten how well they fit and how ..." "I haven't owned a BELL helmet in years. I had forgotten how well they fit and how comfortable they are. I go through more than my share of helmets. It feels great to know I'm wearing such a fine piece of equipment. I feel very well protected. Not to mention the style of this helmet is stunning. It has a no-nonsense, "adult" look, and the fact that it has the word "BELL" clearly visible on both sides tells other riders that I care about what I wear on my head."

Icon Airmada Helmet - 4 Horsemen Icon Airmada Helmet - 4 Horsemen Icon Airmada Helmet - 4 Horsemen Gdub (Portland, OR, USA) LOVE IT! "I have an older Icon helmet and needed an upgrade. This one does everything it claims. I ..." "I have an older Icon helmet and needed an upgrade. This one does everything it claims. I ride a Hayabusa and wind resistance is next to nothing, no lift at higher speed, no drag or wobble when I turn my head to check lanes, and the airflow design under the viser keeps the wind from blowing up under my chin and into my face. My wife just bought a new Arai for over $500 on sale and still has a few airflow issues that I don't. Sizes do run small I think, I can wear a 1X in other brands but need a 2X because the Icon 1X is too tight. The new viser release is super easy and the venting system and fog resistance are great too, but in colder weather with the vents closed there is not much heat retention and it can get a little chilly on longer rides. I would highly recommend the Airmada helmets to anyone."

"I went to this helmet from a similar dual sport helmet, one of the biggest things I was looking for was an o-ring seal around the shield, it works great keeping late and early season cold out, also works great in rain in not allowing water to run down inside of shield, the only complaint at all is that the shield fogs very bad when it's alittle cold, going with a double-lensed shield to solve that, but after a year its still a great helmet..."

Be Smart – Wear a Helmet

We totally get the wind in your face and blowing through your hair. But we also get the first line of defense any motorcycle rider should have is a helmet. Motorcycle helmets are deemed crucial enough that 48 states have passed some type of helmet law with 19 of those states requiring mandatory helmet use.

Whatever side of the fence you fall on as far as government mandated motorcycle helmet use it’s probably best to wear one just to keep the cops at bay. Besides, we love our customers and we want you around! It is a no-brainer that riding without a helmet is tempting fate and is very dangerous. According to a 2012 CDC report nearly five times as many no-helmet biker deaths occur in states with less restrictive laws.

We’re not here to push one side of the argument. Most riders wear helmets regardless of laws and we’ve got the goods! To be clear - Motorcycle helmets are not what they used to be. They are stylish and constructed with modern technological features that push safety while maintaining the utmost in comfort and freedom of movement. Truth be told, motorcycle helmets are a part of the riding experience as well as rider image. We look pretty darn cool with one on.

How to Size a Motorcycle Helmet

A properly fitted motorcycle helmet can play a major role in the outcome of an accident. The first step in finding a motorcycle helmet is determining your head size. Follow these steps:

  • Wrap a soft measuring tape around your head about a half inch above your eyebrows, above your ears and around the back of your head at the largest point.
  • Compare your head size with the specific motorcycle helmet manufacture’s size to find a match. Each motorcycle helmet manufacture provides different sizing charts for their helmets so you will need to compare your helmet size to each brand’s sizing.
  • Try the helmet on before using it. The helmet should sit squarely on your head with the top of the helmet's eye port just above your eyebrows. A properly fitted motorcycle helmet will fit snug at first and loosen slightly as it is broken in.
  • If the helmet moves or your fingers fit easily between your head and the helmet you’ll likely need a smaller size.

Stay safe and get a motorcycle helmet that fits best. If you have questions about sizing a motorcycle helmet give one of our experienced staff members a call at 888-676-8853.
