AGV AX-8 Dual EVO Helmet AGV AX-8 Dual EVO Helmet DRock - Oregon Arai has some competition "Its been long considered that Arai has always had the best fit in the helmet market. This is my first AGV and I'd say Arai has some serious competition at nearly half the price. I measured a 22" which put me into a medium according to AGV's sizing chart. Out of the box the crown of the helmet fit me like a glove. My cheeks however were a bit cramped. AGV rep's assured me pads would break in as much as 30%. After two days of commuting with it I am 100% happy. My cheeks are much more comfortable with ever so slight pinching, enough to make me think this is a performance helmet not some cheap off brand. The venting is superb, I like the mouth piece vent with its sliding open/closure. Finally my biggest praise, there is minimal buffeting on the freeway, I can look to the side when changing lanes at speed without my head feeling like its going to be ripped from my body. AGV has a winner, they just earned their newest #1 fan."

AGV K3 SV Helmet AGV K3 SV Helmet Rupert - Singapore Low cost but great features "I have used this helmet in the hot weather conditions of steamy Singapore. It's great advantage is its light weight which means that even on long rides there is no discernible neck ache. Obviously, our humid climate doesn't favour the use of a full face lid but this helmet is well vented so that once you are moving there is pretty good airflow around the face and temples. The other super useful feature is the flip down tinted visor. Like many countries, we have a general ban on tinted visors due to low light visibility. The flip down visor behind the main visor is easy to operate even with a gloved hand and is a life saver when riding into the sun. This is a lid that I will be hanging on to and I am very likely to replace it with the same or a similar item when it comes round to needing a replacement. This is my fifth AGV helmet and definitely the best so far. I am drawn to the wonderful Rossi replicas but on my budget, these helmets make a good alternative."

AGV Helmets: A Formula for Success

Founded in 1946, the Italian born AGV got its start making leather seats and motorcycle saddles. In 1947, the AGV motorcycle helmet came to life. It was hand-made from a wooden mold. Today, its history in head safety is long and storied. AGV started a loud buzz in 1956 with its jet fighter helmet, based on the helmets worn by jet fighter pilots. In 1967, the company introduced its full-face helmet and then in 1980 AGV introduced a helmet made with DuPont Kevlar fiber.

AGV developed a process revolutionizing helmet design through the use of a 3D laser scanning system. Instead of designing helmets around the outer shell, AGV starts with the head using the laser scanning technology. The 3D system enables AGV to design helmet inner shells and linings that more ergonomically fit to a rider's head while obtaining higher comfort and improved safety
