VORTEX SPROCKET
  • With the Vortex® sprocket and chain kit you can expect race quality and killer street looks.
  • The Vortex® black aluminum rear sprocket will not only make your motorcycle look faster, it will increase your motorcycle's acceleration by reducing the rotating mass. In addition to quicker acceleration, reduced rotating mass also translates into quicker braking and better handling.
  • Vortex® makes their front sprockets out of high quality stainless steel that has been drilled to save weight.
  • The Vortex® rear sprocket has been anodized black for a durable finish and non-stock look. Constructed of the highest quality 7075 T6 aluminum maximizes durability and weight savings.
  • Vortex® uses a CNC machining process to ensure the tightest tolerances and reduced chain drag.
  • Match these Vortex® sprockets up with a RK or DID chain for the ultimate combo on your motorcycle.
RK CHAIN

All RK Sealed O-ring type chains feature heat treated hi-carbon alloy steel components with seamless rollers and shouldered bushings, and are fitted with a variety of O-ring seal designs. All RK O-ring seals are made from an advanced Nitrile Butadiene composite for maximum performance and wearlife.

D.I.I CHAIN

D.I.D's PATENTED X-Ring construction reduces friction by twisting between the side plates instead of being squashed. Normal O-Rings and other makers' modified O-Rings have squashed points that increase friction. The twisting action of the X-Ring disperses the pressure and minimizes power loss.

The X-Ring's four contact points greatly increase its sealing performance. This keeps the dirt out and the lubrication in much better than any other O-Ring. X-Rings have the greatest wear resistance of any other type of O-Ring or Non-O-Ring chain.

Great quality set!
" This is a very nice looking set. I went with a -1 +3 on my 2007 ZX6R Ninja. Great low end torque! Much better acceleration. Vortex makes a very durable sprocket. Recommend this set to anyone looking to improve power transmission. "

Great setup
" Put this on a SV650, to replace a worn chain/sprocket. This is a great combo. The sprockets are really high quality. The first ride with it on, definitely noticed a positive difference, much smoother. The black with the gold chain looks great. I’m sure this setup will last a very long time. "

Correct Choice
" I've only been running this setup on my '99 ZX7R Ninja for a short time, but I could feel an immediate difference in the bikes performance. The acceleration is much snappier, very crisp. You can't beat the look or design of the Vortex sprockets. My mechanic did the installation simply because I had no time to do it myself, and he said it went on with no problems at all (and his labor bill agreed with that statement!). Overall, it was a breath of new life into an old body, definitely the correct choice! I'll be doing it again soon, this time for my Ducati 996SPS. "

very nice kit
" replaced my worn out stock chain and sprocket with this kit on my 07 r1. looked great with the gold chain on the black sprocket and performed very well when i went from a 530 to a 520 kit. u need a chain breaking tool to do it yourself. an impact gun helps with the front sprocket a lot to. nice product and i am planning to buy the same kit for my 08 cbr1000 when the time comes. Great Deal!
" I got this kit for my 05 GSXR 600 with the GXW chain upgrade which is well worth an extra $10 bucks. It also come with a 20,000 mile warranty from RK. I chose the black sprocket due to the PTFE coating which aids in durability and lubricity. I did have to cut off 5 links to make it the same length as the stock chain. If you plan on doing the work yourself you WILL need a chain breaker/riveter tool. This kit does not come with a clip-on style link. "

09 750 race bike?
im making my 09 gsxr into a track bike. whats a good set up for the track?
Asked by suzukiman2323
If you're asking about the best gearing you'll need to ask someone with the same/similar bike who rides the same track. There are so many variables I couldn't answer that for you.
Answered by patrick77, Portland, OR
it depends on the track. find out what people are using at your local track and go from there. it is also going to depend on the bike and personal preference.
Answered by dirt
What teeth size do I need?
Asked by 650Rebel, Columbia, MO
The stock gearing for your bike is 15/46. To increase acceration you will need to increase the gearing ratio. For a moderate increase, add one tooth to the rear sprocket. For a more dramatic increase, drop down one tooth on the front sprocket.
Answered by MotoMoo2, Portland
do you sell chains that do not require oiling
Asked by madrush, Fremont California
Our stock of chains all require routine maintenance. Some chains have a longer maintenance schedule, but will still require regular oiling. The longevity of the chain will depend on your riding style.
Answered by MotoMoo2, Portland
What gearing should i choose?
Asked by WHPLSH, Australia
To gain low end, but in turn lose top end, you will need to reduce the number of teeth on the front sprocket, increase the number of teeth on the rear sprocket or both. I would only recommend adjusting the number of teeth by a few to start out.

520 did kit with -1+1 vortex
Asked by moldousa, destin,fl
Most Likely it's not under warranty... Vortex mainly does warranties for manufacture defects in materials and workmanship but it's not my call. You can contact Vortex directly at 800.440.3559 Mon-Fri 9am to 6pm ET to see what they think.
Answered by Drewski, Portland, OR
You have to align the chain properly and that won't happen.
Answered by TRAKDAYZ
What chain conversion kit do I order?
Asked by GixxerGirl
Your bike came stock with a 16-tooth front sprocket and a 43-tooth rear sprocket. If you have any gearing questions with respect to trying to gain quicker accelleration or more top speed, I'd recommend just giving us a call so that we can better help you out over the phone....this is all really just a matter of personal preference, bike setup and riding style.
Answered by Darren77
Will this kit fit my bike?
Asked by Mitchell, Green Bay, WI
no it will not. if your bike is not listed it will not fit.
Answered by dirt
it come with MASTER LINK or not
Asked by zx6r
yes it comes with a MASTER LINK
Answered by Drewski, Portland, OR
All chains we sell come with some type of master link, whether it be a clip style or rivet. The Chain will specify what type.
Answered by james718
Yes. Comes with a press style master. You will need a press tool and possibly a micrometer to install the master.
Answered by Karma, Hermiston, OR.
so is the rear sproket black or the chain?
Asked by fashionrider, hawaii
These sprockets will be black in this kit and your chain will have different color options. Those options would include gold, gold/black, and silver.
Answered by grantr629, Tualatin
The rear sprocket is black. You can choose a black chain in the options if you prefer that color.
Answered by Karma, Hermiston, OR.
what do i order
Asked by blackice
If you want your bike to be a little quicker the best thing to do is see what size sprocket you have on now on the rear and go up a tooth or two. Doing this will take away a little bit of your top end speed but will add more bottom end pulling power. Another way to do it would be to go down a tooth on the front sprocket. This will have the same effect.
