While changing a chain is relatively simple, it is not necessarily easy. This tool is a start though it is overpriced (it’s steel) and overrated, or under designed. In order to use this tool one needs three more tools: a box end wrench, a socket, and a ratchet. Do yourself a favor and forget their suggestion of using a screwdriver as a handle. Then, in order to do the job properly you will need two more things--calipers and the specification for your particular connecting link rivet flair. Back to the tool. Do follow their suggestion (or common sense) of lubricating the threads and mating surfaces, and ESPECIALLY of grinding (or filing) the head of the pin flush before attempting to push it out. Finally proceed with care. If you press the plates too close together or flair the rivet pin too much, you can’t very well un-press or un-flair it now can you?! Good luck.
