Q: Will these silverstone saddlebags fit on a 2003 Harley Davidson V-Rod?

will they mount without the saddle bag brackets?

A: This is a universal saddlebag that is made to be used on a wide range of motorcycle. It does not have a specific model fitment. Installation time and difficulty will vary by model of bike. They do install without brackets, but supports may be needed. Also, feel free to give us a call at 888-676-8853 and we would be happy to help you out with your order.

A: These should fit with the seat cowl just like they would with a passanger seat installed on your bike.

Q: Do I need the support bracket to use these bags on my NC700X?
2 years 7 months ago
These bags were purchased for me as a gift and I tried to mount them on my bike, but I am running into some concerns. Do I need to have the support brackets so the bags do not fold under the seat and potentially interfere with the tire. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

A: The Firstgear Saddlebags and other expandable unit do not have supports available for your Honda NC700X motorcycle. Make sure you have them adjusted properly so they fit best on the bike.

A: You will want to measure how much room you are working with on the side of the bike. The dimensions of this bag are 18"L x 11.5"W x 12"H. With those measurements you should be able to determine if you have enough clearance front to back and also with the height measurement, make sure they will not rest on your exhaust pipes.

Q: Will these bags fit on a 2012 650 V-strom?

What with the exhaust positioned as it is, are these bags mounting straps long enough so that the bags wouldn't end up looking like chunky delta wings (angled up and out) once mounted? Would they be long enough if I were to mount one of those guards/shields on the opposite side from the exhaust which make the mounted bags more symmetrical when viewed from rear of bike?

A: With your DL650 exhaust only being single sided you should have no problem with the length of the straps. I have only heard of some issue with bikes with dual exhaust having to extend the straps.
