Unfortunately this style of mirror will not fit on your 1999 R1. Your mirrors mount to the fairing where these are a post type mirror that would mount on the controls of bikes that have correct receivers for them. You will need to look at an OEM replacement mirror to fit your bike.

Will these fit a 2012 Triumph T100?
I know that I will probably have to buy the adaptors that let you use aftermarket mirrors on the stock Triumph controls. My concern is if I will be able to see past my shoulders.

As far as seeing past your shoulders- that would depend on who is riding the bike. Here are the dimensions of the mirror, hopefully this helps give you an idea if they will work for you. Length: 4-9/16" Height: 2-15/16" Housing Depth: 1-7/8" Stem Length: 2-3/4"
