Alpinestars Bionic 2 Protection Jacket

I live in Los Angeles where it doesn't get that hot, but its extremely recommended for hot summer days in the canyons. Snug fit, I wear a median size at at 5' 11 185lbs. If you sport ride I truly recommended this gear just to have in the closet. I ride Gsxr k7 600.

This gear is good, but I decided to give it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the chest protector. The chest part doesn't seem to serve a purpose as the protection on it seems very minimal. It's thin and kind of bunches up towards the neck when you are in an aggressive stance on a crotch rocket. Other than that, this gear is perfect for summer riding. I live in Atlanta and the summer heat can get up to 90-100 degrees. It keeps you very cool during those hot summer days. The back protector could use better ventilation tho, as the fitment is really snug on your back therefore soaking up the sweat and retaining it - but I'm not complaining as I feel well protected. It is better than wearing a heavy jacket in my opinion. What I like most about it is that the gut strap on it keeps your back from hurting on long rides as you are bent over most of the time. I had a little fall this past weekend, flipping over the handle bars on my bike going about 10-15mph landing on my back in the gravel and slid about 5ft in this jacket. The paddings didn't shift at all and I didn't feel a thing (except for my neck a few days later from whiplash). I am sure if I landed on concrete it would be a different story, but hopefully I don't have to crash test that.

Love the jacket; already crash tested it and it passed with flying colors. The only issue I had, and as with all alpinestars gear, is that it runs small. Originally ordered a small, but sent it back for a medium. Medium fits great and I love the feeling of being protected.

If you value your life and want the ultimate protection, this is it! Very ergonomic as the suit forms to the body. Ive heard other reviews that the sleeves had a very tight fit, but I beg to differ. I guess it all depends on body type. Im only 5' 7'' 135 lbs and this body armor fits to a "T" You will definitely feel more confident while riding knowing that you basically have an exoskeleton.

They did well for supermoto, held up and protected me in a high speed low side and is comfortable good purchase.

I love this jacket. It is very comfortable, breathes well, and the protection is great. I came to test its protection the second track day I road with this thing. The fork seals on my CR had blown the weekend prior and I did not realize exactly how much fluid had leaked out. Long story short, I hit the first table top nose extreme high and when I landed the forks bottomed out, throwing me hard chest first into the bars. I felt it, but it didnt even knock my breathe out. So, I was very, very happy with how well it dissipated the brunt of the impact. I do not ride the track without this on. I did have to cut the sleeves off of mine because it was cutting off my circulation. Im not a big guy by any means. Im 6'1" and 184 lbs... so I do believe the sleeves are made a little too tight. Also, I wasnt a big fan of the elbow pads. If I did it again, I would have saved 25 dollars and bought the vest instead of the jacket, but all in all I think this is a great purchase. My only real gripe is the fact that this jacket does not work with the Bionic neck brace. I spoke with an Alpinestar rep and they said that they are still working on a jacket that is compatible with their neck brace. How does the bionic jacket not work with the bionic neck brace?????

i feel like i could hit a tank at 110. it also insulates me on those cold days. love it, no complaints, well exept for the sizing. But thats alpinestars for you!!!

Jacket is outstanding. Feels very protective. But with all AP Stars stuff the SIZE is WWAAYY OFF! I am a big guy and I ordered the XXL. It fits like a small shirt. It is snug but it does not interfear at all while riding. Top quality but the size is the only issue. Overall a great buy!

bought this a few weeks ago and wear it every time i ride. sizing is very small. i wear large shirts and this thing is still snug in 2xl. feels really good though and i can move very easily. its like wearing a t-shirt with armor. i have noticed the back protector likes to come unzipped by itself but i fixed that by using some thread to tie it down. other than that it feels awsome and makes summer days easier to deal with! armor seems very sturdy and i feel that it would protect well in the event of a crash. worth every penny!

This is excellent under armor. I have taken a couple of good crashes and this took the hit. The back protection is awesome as well as the chest, shoulders and forearms.
