Good Quality Filter
Bought this filter for my '93 suzi gsx600 katana and would highly recommend as it comes with both stock velocity insert and high velocity intake sleeves for bikes which have been re-jetted might have mines done now :) smoother throttle response since fitted.

Best around, no doubt
I love K&N. Their quality is just through the roof with their products. This was fairly easy to install and definitely gave my bike some pick up on the lower end. Great mod for the money.

Great drop in mod.
K&N has always been a great way to free up power in any machine. It's not a power adder so much as it frees up power your bike already has. It's also nice to not have to change it like a paper filter, but simply washing and re-oiling gets you another 3,000+ miles in a dusty region or 6,000+ miles in less dusty areas.

Very good
I just ordered my k&N and have not installed it yet. However I use K&N with all my high performance vehicles. The Filter itself will provide more air flow to be mixed with fuel. However it can't do the job by itself. If you want the full potential of this product you will need need a true Ram Air with unrestricted air flow but the K&N is a good place to start. Be aware that this filter does require cleaning from time to time about every two oil changes and the cleaning kit runs about 12.00 to 15.00 dollars. If your looking for more power then this is a good place to start just don't thank your going to see a big difference just by replacing your filter. Remember the more air you can get in your motor the more power your going to get out of it.

I have a 98 katana 750 is it worth it to get a k@n air filter or should i go with stock i have no other mods besides slip on exhuast?

The K&N filter is going to let the bike breath a little easier which will translate into a little more power. To compensate you may need to re-jet your bike depending how it is currently jetted. The other nice feature of the K&N filter is that it is cleanable and re-usable and if taken care of properly will not need to be replaced for the life of the bike. Please make sure to use the proper K&N filter cleaner and oil when cleaning and oiling the filters.

How much horsepower will it add to my bike by installing this air filter?
Over 3 years ago Location: Jermyn, PA
Marginal if any.. Without re-jetting the bike (or re-mapping if FI) an air filter alone will most likely cause a loss in power due to improper AF ratios. If you add the filter and tune the fuel to match there is a possibility of a slight gain in horsepower. This amount over a stock air filter that is in proper clean condition would probably not even be noticeable. Maybe 1-3% but not over the entire power curve, most likely on the top end/higher rev range.

Is a PC 3 necessary?
Is it necessary to re-map the ECU if using this filter along with a slip-on exhaust such as a Jardine GP1 or Two Brothers?

If all you will change is an air filter a PC3 is not necessary but for optimum performance it is the the way to go. If you have a after market exhaust and K&N air filter it would be a good idea to get a adjustable fuel management system like the Power Commander.
