One happy dude

Over all a satisfied customer. Filter was super simple to install, took 30 seconds once the air of was open. So far I've noticed easier startup, and a boost in the response and pick up. Great and inexpensive upgrade.

No Experience Required Easy, Inexpensive Upgrade

The K&N air filter is a great, easy & inexpensive upgrade that will pay for itself 10x over as long as this filter is maintained & not neglected. It's proven technology, as simple as it may be, actually does allow a greater flow of filtered air to pass through your engine therefore igniting a "cleaner" spark. Because of it's cotton core this product should last as long as the life of your bike if taken care of properly. I must admit that K&N is the best intake filter in the market & has been for years. I believe this should be one of the 1st if not the 1st upgrade you make to your bike. It does have it's performance enhancing qualities but it's a sure way to be a "gateway" upgrade to get you inspired to make your bike your way.

Five Stars

This filter was very easy to install and fit perfectly. The bike breathes far better over the stock paper filter. I've made no other modifications other than the filter. Throttle response has improved slightly and fuel mileage has improved from 35 to just over 38 mpg on my bike.

Just bought k&n air filter(HA-3500) for my atv 2000 Honda rancher trx350fe, do I need to oil it like the original foam air filter?
MotoSport Staff
4 months 12 days ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
The K&N filters come pre-oiled so it does not need to be oiled before the original installation. The cleaner and oil required for a K&N type filter is different than your foam filter oil and cleaner. K&N offers the correct oil and cleaner for when you do need to service the filter. These filters do require oil and you cannot run them dry.

1993 yamaha virago 750?
i was wondering since my bike has two filters will i need to buy 2 or will this product come with two?
MotoSport Staff
Over 8 months ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
Your XV750 actually only has 1 filter on the right hand side. There is a a cover on the left that looks the same but does not actually have a an air filter. It is a "dummy" air filter and is only for looks.

I have a 98 katana 750 is it worth it to get a k@n air filter or should i go with stock i have no other mods besides slip on exhuast?
MotoSport Staff
Over 11 months ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
The K&N filter is going to let the bike breath a little easier which will translate into a little more power. To compensate you may need to re-jet your bike depending how it is currently jetted. The other nice feature of the K&N filter is that it is cleanable and re-usable and if taken care of properly will not need to be replaced for the life of the bike. Please make sure to use the proper K&N filter cleaner and oil when cleaning and oiling the filters.

What type of oil is recommended to oil a new filter?
Over 4 years ago Location: Alabama
Have used K&N filters for many years in Jeeps, Diesel Trucks and Dirt bikes. Always use K&N oil. They come pre oiled out of the box. When they are dirty, buy their cleaner and oil. Follow their directions,

How much horsepower will it add to my bike by installing this air filter?
Over 4 years ago Location: Jermyn, PA
Marginal if any.. Without re-jetting the bike (or re-mapping if FI) an air filter alone will most likely cause a loss in power due to improper AF ratios. If you add the filter and tune the fuel to match there is a possibility of a slight gain in horsepower. This amount over a stock air filter that is in proper clean condition would probably not even be noticeable. Maybe 1-3% but not over the entire power curve, most likely on the top end/higher rev range.

Dose this clamp on to the carb?
is it a airbox eliminator would it fit the stock banshee carbs
Expert MotoSport Staff
Over 4 years ago Location: Portland, OR
This air filter only fits the ModQuad Air Filter System. You must have this system to use this air filter. This will not mount to a stock air box, or carbs.
deez Over 4 years ago
Do you have to have the modquad airflow system for this filter to work or will this take the place of a stock air filter with the airbox lid cut off?
MotoSport Staff
Over 4 years ago Location: Tualatin
No this filter must be used with the Modquad air flow system. The kit comes with an adapter that mounts the filter different from the stock mount.
Margz16 Over 5 years ago Location: Waipahu, HI
Are there any special mounting parts needed ?
I have an '09 Yamaha 350 Raptor. I just bought this item from you. But when I went to apply it to my ride, I found out that it does not mount up. Is there something I'm missing? The stock filter has a plastic cap that slides, & locks into place. This K & N is a slip on type. My quad does not have a slip on application. Any ideas on how I can make this filter work for me?

This is a replacement Air Filter for the MODQUAD AIR FLOW SYSTEM. This is NOT a stock replacement air filter.
