Can I add a graves low mount full titanium exhaust system to my 2012 yam R-1 without a power commander?
Will installing a graves low mount full titanium exhaust cause it to not run correctly? Will I have to use it with a power commander to run right? If so, what power commander will I need and will I also need the auto tune? Also I'm no mechanic but I have installed slip on pipes in the past, is installing some or all of these items difficult or can they be done by your normal backyard wrencher? I plan to add more mods later such as a high flow air filter. Also is there any other products that I need for this install? Smog block off plates?

With the full system exhaust you will more than likely need to add the power commander also. The PC5 will be what you want. The auto tune is not required but can be a nice feature if you don't want to mess with tuning your bike at all. In the future it would be able to compensate for the additional modifications. At the same time though there are plenty of maps created that you can download and install on your own, based on the modifications you are going to do. The smog block of plates again will not be required but they aren't a bad idea. The only thing I would recommend getting would be a new set of header gaskets. The installation will not be terribly hard and shouldn't require any special tools. Possibly take a look at Youtube to watch some exhaust installs for your bike, and see if it is something you are willing to tackle. It will be more involved than installing a slip on exhaust for sure.
