D.I.D 520 ZVMX Series X-Ring Gold Chain - 120 Links:

D.I.D's engineers are continuously improving chain designs in order to handle the tremendous horsepower loads of today's high performance motorcycles. In developing the new DID ZVM-X series, D.I.D focused on "Rigidity." Traditionally, "Tensile Strength" has been the bench-mark to indicate overall strength, but tensile strength is only a laboratory static measurement of a chain's fracture point. Rigidity, on the other hand, is the ability of a chain to withstand the forces that occur in the real world that riders experience. Increased rigidity means better power transfer from the engine to the ground, greater resistance to stretching under load, and overall improved performance that meets the demands of the current high-power bikes and the people who ride them.

  • Increased rigidity for better power transfer and greater resistance to stretching under load.
  • Overall improved performance that meet the demands of the current high-power bikes.
  • Designed to meet requirements of machines bigger than 1000cc.
  • Same excellent characteristics of the ZVM chains, but its new X2-ring design provides 40 percent greater wear resistance and better overall chain life.
  • Average tensile strength of 8,745 pounds.
  • Wear life index: 3500.
  • For use on Superbikes; maximum rated displacement 1200cc.
  • Weight (per 100 links): 3.59 pounds.
  • Includes a rivet-style master link.
  • 120 links.

RK 520 GBXSO X-Ring Gold Race Chain - 120 Links:

Viewed in cross-section, the RK "RX-Ring" has two lubrication pools and seal points versus the single seal point / pool design of a regular O-ring chain. RK's new GBXSO chains offer quality, performance and unbeatable value, for all but the most demanding high performance applications.

  • High-performing, durable chain that will last five to eight times longer than your standard motorcycle chain.
  • Constructed from polished, shot-peened alloy steel providing high tensile strength for maximum performance.

Sunstar 520 Road DualGuard Sealed Chain - 120 Links:

Sunstar's heavy duty, street motorcycle chain model is the RDG series (RDG = Road Dual Guard) for 520, 525 and 530 applications. It uses Sunstar's DualGuard sealed ring street bike chain technology where the sealing ring has an 'X' shape - meaning there are two sealing points and two lubrication pools versus the one-sided, single-lip design of a standard O-ring. This sealed ring design type dramatically improves lubricity in high heat conditions while providing lower friction and longer chain life - and it is available for just about every street motorcycle on today's market. It comes in the natural color option and uses a strong rivet-type connecting link. For a higher performance road chain at a non-premium price, the Sunstar RDG answers the bell and is great for everything from everyday commuting to closed course riding.

  • Features Sunstar's DG-ring (DualGuard) design for better performance and durability.
  • Great choice for any type of street use; perfect choice for high-performance riding but at a non-premium price.
  • Only available in a Natural finish.
  • Average tensile strength of 8,500 pounds.
  • Maximum rated displacement (street / off-road): 750cc / 750cc.
  • Weight (per 100 links): 3.36 pounds.
  • Includes rivet-style master link.
  • 120 links.

Sunstar 520 RTG1 Works TripleGuard Sealed Racing Chain - 120 Links:

For a top of the line, premium-level road racing chain, Sunstar offers the RTG1 series - Sunstar's highest performing road racing chain - for 520 and 530 street applications (RTG1 = Road Triple Guard). This Works level chain features the TripleGuard sealed ring technology where there are 3 sealing lips and lubrication pools on each side of the ring to maintain top performance in high heat, extreme conditions; the TripleGuard ring type is the best for lubrication and protection. Both the 520 and 530 are available in pre-cut lengths and come in the gold color option (gold outer and inner plates). While the 520 is great for any bike 1000cc or less which already uses a 520 pitch, the 530RTG1 is suitable for the high-performance, larger displacement machines like the Suzuki Hayabusa, Kawasaki ZX-14R Ninja and others in the same class that use 530 pitch. Both options use the rivet-type connecting link and are well suited to handle the demands of the toughest racing conditions encountered on the street.

  • Utilizes exclusive TG-ring (TripleGuard) for the ultimate in heat prevention and lubricity even in extremely harsh conditions.
  • Assembled of the best 100% heat treated components.
  • Extremely strong, yet also in a lightweight design - weighing just over 4 pounds per 100 links.
  • Only available in Gold finish.

  • Maximum rated displacement (street / off-road): 1000cc / 750cc.
  • Weight (per 100 links): 4.30 pounds.
  • Includes rivet-style master link.
  • 120 links.

Vortex 520 SV3 Black Street / Roadrace Chain - 120 Links:

  • Duo Glide seal design reduces heat and friction resulting in a 7 times longer wear life than a standard O-ring chain.
  • Average tensile strength of 8,500 pounds.
  • Maximum rated displacement (street / off-road): 750cc / NA.
  • Includes rivet-style master link.
  • 120 links.

Vortex 520 RV3 Black Street / Roadrace Chain - 120 Links:

  • Tri Glide seal provides 3 pockets of lubrication and two stabilizers ultimately reducing heat, friction, and increasing wear life by as much as 10 times over standard O-ring chains.
  • Average tensile strength of 8,800 pounds.
  • Maximum rated displacement (street / off-road): 1000cc / NA.
  • Includes rivet-style master link.
  • 120 links.

Note for installing X-ring chains: As X-ring chains are wider than standard roller chains, when fitting an X-ring chain to a motorcycle that was fitted with a non O-ring chain as original equipment, it is essential to check that there is proper clearance of the engine cases near the countershaft sprocket and any other places of close contact. Failure to do so could result in damage to the chain and motorcycle and could ultimately cause the chain to fail.

Good kit for the price

Very happy with the purchase. Installation went smooth, and both sprockets and chain are high quality. Only con is that the rear sprocket is aluminum and therefore weaker than steel.

A lot lighter than stock

I put this sprocket kit on my friends kan-o-tuna 600. We went from the 530 to the 520 kit which saved ~ 1.5lbs. it was easy to install, just like any other kit. its not the best looking, but who cares its a sprocket lol. overall id say its a great product and if you are in the market for a new kit this wont dissapoint you.

530 to 520 conversion not for me

It was nice while it lasted however the slight increase you get in acceleration is not worth the cost in wear. Plan on replacing a 520 conversion every 5K. I'm back to the 530's and will stay there...Unless you really need every ounce of performance you can get and have the cash to burn.

Changing Chain and Sprockets?
I have a 2005 GSXR600 and i want to change chain and sprockets. I was told stock is 16/45 525 x 112. I am looking for more torque so I want to go down one tooth and go to 520. What would be my best chain and sprocket kit option?

The brand is personal preference. Going with a larger rear sprocket will give you better low end response but will cut a little off of your top end, the same is true by using a smaller front sprocket. The ratio you use is something you may want to ask someone with the same bike and riding style as yourself, because the most important thing is that it suits your riding style.

More torque = down in front and/or up in back. The conversion to a 520 kit will not improve torque but it will decrease weight and unsprung rotational weight by a minimal amount.

Sprocket set up?
I have A 2007 Yamaha YZF-R6 that I stunt and I'm looking for a sprocket set up that will get it off the ground alittle easier but still drive it on the street could you help.

Well, its hard for me to make a fair recommendation for you regarding what gearing you should run (since its all really just a matter of personal preference, your bike and your riding style). However, going down a tooth in the front (or up three teeth in the rear) is a pretty common and "typical" way to go for most of today's 600cc bikes. Its definitely enough of a change in accelleration/snap that you'll be able to notice a huge difference in the way that the bike pulls up the front, yet its not so drastic that the bike becomes "unrideable" due to a lacking in top speed. If you have any further questions regarding "appropriate gearing", please feel to give us a call as we should be able to help you out over the phone!

Is a 520 sprocket right for me?
I resently purchased a 520 sprocket/chain setup for my GSXR-600. A friend informed me that because of my size (6'2",240lbs), that the teeth size in the 520 would not be safe over time. Any suggestions.

You will be fine. 520 will wear out a little quicker from you stock 525 set up but the tensile strength of the chains are fairly close comparing the higher end models
