A good warm weather radiator guard. Allows for maximum air flow. Would help installation to have a 1/2 inch longer upper radiator tube for the YZ.

Have to drain coolant to install which is a pain, as well as trim a lot off of radiator shrouds (plastics) to get the lower bolt to line up. Even with trimming and using the provided spacer, it still does not line up easily. Not great if you take your shrouds off a lot. Bike was a 2007 wr450
These radiator guards look nice and are quite sturdy. Only slightly noticeable after all of the plastics are reinstalled. Only downside (minor) was having to trim the inside of the radiator shrouds down to get everything to fit back together due to the fact that it makes everything slightly wider than stock without the guards. Ultimately I wish I would have purchased a set of these before the radiators got a bit bent. I'm sure it would have saved them.
Definitely a solid set of radiator guards with high quality materials that look and feel as though they will offer good protection to the radiators in a crash. Installation was simple and the provided instructions detailed and accurate.
My only problem with the product was that the plastic radiator shrouds are difficult to get bolted back onto the bike after installing the radiator guards due to the distance between the shroud bolt holes and the radiator mounting bracket and the supplied mounting bolt length not being long enough. I overcame the issue with some effort but would expect a product in this price range to have zero fitment issues.
I would give it overall 4 out of 5 stars and would recommend this product.
Easy install, looks great, and protects my radiator. Overall happy with my purchase.
Easy installation, comes with good instructions (2011 YZ450F). Fit over my "pre-bent" radiators. Good investment !
On my 08 CRF 450 I used to go through 5 radiators a year racing. Once I purchased a set of these they never broke again. So now, these are one of the first parts I'm buying for my new 2015 RMZ 450.
PS you don't have to completely remove your radiators to install it just makes it easier.
I bought these guards for my 2008 KTM 450 XC-F. Thankfully I did not bend my radiators before I put them on. I took off my shrouds, and removed my gas tank to expose my radiators~pretty easy. Then loosened the bolts that keep the radiators on the frame and the braces were ready to install. With the additional thickness of the guards, my shrouds were tight to reinstall, but they are on without modification with original OEM bolt screws. All in all, installation took 20 minutes and the fit was perfect. These guards provide excellent protection for my radiators and I am 100% satisfied with them. Frankly, I don't know why any woods rider would go without this protection. It beats a long push back to the truck.
Kind of a pain in the you know what to install cause instructions are junk but really nice solid product
really good and important product!
no one would want to get stuck in a trip with a broken radiator, these guards worry that it will not happen
So I have had these guards on two different bikes now over the course of 6 years and even after countless crashes my radiators are in one piece. If they could work out some installation issues I would rate thee 5 stars. The first bike I had was brand new and installing the guards was easier because the radiators had not been bent out of place. However, when you install these the radiators become approximately a half inch further apart from one another. Just far enough to not be able to reuse the upper radiator hose that connects the two together. Not the end of the world but it would have been nice if there was some mention of that in the directions or even better, a longer hose. The only other problem I ran into was when installing them on my used dirt bike. Even after spending an hour tweaking the slightly abused and bent radiators I was never able to secure the lower part of the shrouds and had to settle for zip ties. All in all a great product that has been proven to hold up to some harsh abuse over the years, just can be a pain to install.
These where the only set that they made for my bike wish it was more durable and protecting of the radiator in the front and the left side doesn't even fit to good had to find way to make it snug and not loose so I used rubber grommet washers needs to b more sturdy hopefully does it's job of protecting my new radiator cause I ain't sponsored and can't b spending an arm and a leg for it even tho it's a pretty expensive sport! That I love!!!!
Work well. Protects the radiators and they make the ride feel more stable.
I ordered these braces because of the good reviews, and I laid my bike down, bending my radiator. Shipment came and put one side on. Very easy to install. Then when I went to install the other side, the brace did not fit, not knowing the other side was an aftermarket radiator. These braces only fit OEM radiator sizes. EBAY aftermarket radiators are thicker. I recommend these braces if you have OEM rads, and want to protect them.
Easy to put on, but I did not know the previous owner had an aftermarket radiator on the left side. The gaurds only fit the oem size radiators. I recommend the gaurds to protect your stock radiator, or just buy ebay aftermarket rads for $80.00.
Got the moose radiator guards for my '13 exc 500. Install was a bit involved cause I had to remove the radiators, still only took about an hour. These fit perfectly with the ims 3.1 gallon tank.i haven't needed them as yet,but it's nice to know they're there.crashed my drz,and that cost 300 bucks.i recommend these to any trail rider, very sturdy, and a nice look.
bought them for 2004 ktm 525 exc great fit.easy install.very sturdy well made product. I have devol radiator guards on my Suzuki. want to replace with moose guards.great deal more protection. marty lynnwood wa
If you're running a radiator fan these will need to be modified to fit. Why one pair isn't offered fit this model correctly is beyond me.
I just got my radiator guards yesterday and put them on. I haven't wrecked the bike yet, but when I do ill be glad I spent the money on the guards instead of a new radiator.
your radiator will break. Buy duval or flatland
