Can't live without

I bought a vest for myself and my wife, we love them. We have three bikes and a short riding season in Minnesota. These vests are great they keep us very warm when we are out in the yard or on the bikes. We upgraded to the larger battery's for the vests and I use the standard batteries as back ups for my Global Warming Gloves. This equipment makes our miserable weather tolerable ;-D I can't believe I've been without for so long. Troy

Heats Up Fast!

I bought this vest in blue last year (October 2011) after having to return my Tour Master vest (to a different store/company) when it failed after only 4 months of use. I wanted a rechargeable battery powered vest this time and read some reviews on the Ansai/Mobile Warming vest to see if it was worth the price.

Most reviews raved about the vest and customers said that they did not just use it on motorcycles but any cold weather activity. I was a little skeptical on how small the heating pads were...would they be able to keep me warm?

After buying it and testing it, I did notice how fast it heated up to max heat even though the heating pads (only 3) are located two on the front chest and one on the upper back. After a 25-30 minute ride in freezing temperatures my core was still warm but my fingers were starting to go numb. So I'd recommend getting heated gloves as well if you were to ride longer distances in the cold.

I've also warn this vest while snowboarding and while watching outdoor soccer games. It's great! Especially when people start saying they're cold and you can say, "I'm warm!"

The only issue with this vest would probably be the battery pack. When using on 100% heat the battery only lasts 1.5-2 hours and up to 4-6 hours on the 25% setting. I'd suggest having another battery pack as a backup in case the first runs out of power. I do find that 75% heat is the best. You can get burned with 100% heat but I use that setting on the bike as wind chill becomes a huge factor.

But overall, I absolutely love my heated vest and would totally buy one again, for a friend, or loved one!

Q: Do these tend to run large, small or spot on? I would like to wear this over thinner sweaters. Thanks!?
