Great tire ...but

I have been using Road 3 tires for years now. they never disappointed me. except this time. I don't know if it's bad luck but I just bought these tires and I already have a flat on the rear one within 7 days they were installed by a professional shop. is there some kind of warranty from Michelin or Moto Sport that covers this? because now I have to buy a new rear tire.

Last Forever

These tires take ages to wear out. I recently took them off of my SV1000 with 9500+ miles on them and I hadn't hit the wear-bars yet. I am usually lucky if I can get 5000 miles out of a regular pilot power. They are decent in the rain.

My main complaint is that they made my bike feel heavy and slow to turn. I think this is related to the profile of the tire, these are more rounded compared to the Pilot Powers. The shape of these tires doesn't give as much confidence in the corners and really makes the bike feel like it would rather be standing straight up instead of leaning over.

These are great if you're looking for a long-lasting tire, but for me they took some of the fun out of riding and I probably won't be buying them again.

Great Rubber

I have had these on three bikes now and they are excellent. Good in all conditions. My riding buddies all ride them too. No complaints from any of us.

Purchase - Michelin Pilot Road 3 Tire Combo

Purchase was smooth, tires were delivered very quickly and prices were competitive. As my K1600 tends to chew through tires I will be ordering from MotoSPORT again.

Tyre

good product, a bit softer sidewall than the larger, giving softer street ride...

Best Upgrade Ever

Recently had these fitted to my 09 Yamaha FZ6R and absolutly love them. The bike came with Dunlop Roadsmarts, which seemed pretty good, but when it came time to replace them I decided to try the Michelins since I had heard good things about the tread life. What I didn't expect was a total transformation in the handling! The bike BEGS for corners. The faster, the better! And with total confidence. I used to have to muscle my bike when nearing the tires edge, but not these. At the same speed they simply seem to want more speed and lean angle. Although I have only had them a short time waer seems less than expected.

Excellent Purchase

These are fantastic tires for riding mostly year round here in Portland, OR. The durability is fantastic and the grip is awesome in the Rain. 1,000 miles on them and no signs of wear yet!! These things are also nice and sticky when dry. Gives a lot of confidence.

Great tires!

These Tires are awesome! The C2T is incredible, even in cold weather before the tires are warmed up, the grip is amazing. The tread seems to hold up good too, I put 2,000 miles on these within a month of getting them, and they seem to be just fine. The grip is great in the twisties, I had no issues whatsoever. These will instill confidence in your machine! This is the first set of tires I've bought, and I will be buying them again! The stock tires could not hold a candle to these. With these tires on, you have no excuses for chicken strips! The only downfall I see, is that they are only Z rated, so if you ride a Busa or a ZX-14, you may want to look at some others with a higher rating.

They made it EASY!

I never thought that buying tires online could be so easy!! They had the best prices by FAR, shipping was fast, mounting shop they recommended didn't gouge me...the entire experience certainly made me a believer. Plus I saved over $200 compared to my local full-service bike shop!!

Yes, I would recommend MotoSport to a friend.

RP3 Great tires

So far the road pilot 3s are a great choice for tires. I only ordered the front tire so far and have over 2000 miles on it. The tire looks brand new still with the same tread depth as new. My rear tire is now slick and I will be ordering the rear pr3 next week. The front tire handles great especially in wet conditions. If not for the pr3 in front the water probably would have swept my slick rear out from under me. The pr3 clears a great path for the rear. I am excited to have the matching rear in a week.

Good sport touring tire.

Great sport touring tire, I got these tires specifically to ride from Lincoln, NE to Jacksonville, FL and back, with a couple trips to The Dragon's tail. Over 4000 miles.

At the time if this posting I have somewhere around 7-8k miles on them. With 4/32"-5/32" left on them. There is a flatspot, but not very noticeable, the center just looks like its flattened out a bit, but there is no noticeable lip. Does incredibly well in the rain, had to accelerate past semis on my trip to florida in the rain, felt like I was riding on dry roads!

One thing though is since they are a sport touring tire, their grip is pretty low if you do a lot of canyon carving. Until the tires are warmed up I will slip, EVERYWHERE with any lean angle over 30ish degrees I'd say.

This tire is also quite a bit heavier than the Pilot power CT2, and will add a lot of rotational mass to your bike (read: it will make your bike handle more sluggishly), when I'm pushing through chicanes I have to put a lot of force into my handle bars to get the bike to turn/flip over.

Great tread life! Lower grip until warmed up, even when warm still not very sticky. Most people don't ride to the limits of their tires. I routinely skirt with the limit of theses tires on my gsxr.

Q: What is the differance between 150/70R17 and 150/70ZR17?

What does the "R" stand for and what does the "ZR" stand for?

A: The "R" would indicate this is a Radial tire. The "Z" would be the speed rating (Z = 150+ MPH).

Q: What is the widest tire that can be put on a92cbr600?

A: It is recommended to stick with the stock size when choosing tires unless you are able to measure exact clearance. With that said, usually you can go up one size without issue. For your 1992 CBR600 that would mean going to a 180/55-17. This tire is 20mm or just under 1 inch wider but that is an incredibly wide tire for your stock wheel and would not be recommended.

A: The Michelin Pilot Road 3 is actually a W rated tire. A W rated tire is good up to 168 MPH.

Q: What is the difference between the Michelin pilot road 3 & the Michelin pilot road 2?
MotosportStaff
MotoSport Staff

A: The Pilot Road 3 is simply the updated, newer version of the Pilot Road 2. It is the most current Pilot Road that Michelin has out and has made improvements on ride quality and handling over the previous version. This tire is good for someone looking for the best of both worlds for traction and mileage.

A: My understanding is that the Road 3 is better in the wet. Especially wet braking, as well as improvements to tread life.
