Proven radial tire developed for performance bikes.

  • Revolutionary compound delivers high grip under the heavy power delivery of the latest high performance sportbikes, while providing excellent mileage and a high performance level throughout its lifecycle.
  • Profile is balanced front and rear to enable the rider to get the best handling from the motorcycle and provide excellent high-speed stability.
  • Compound and advanced tread pattern inspire confidence under wet conditions and reduce hydroplaning.
  • All-new 190 rear profile delivers specific pressure distribution to create an optimal contact pattern.
  • Tread pattern provides grooves where needed for drainage and compound only where grip is required most.

Technical Data:

Steel radial: Innovative belt structure with a single ply of steel cords wrapped around a radial carcass at 0°. Patented high performance technology by Metzeler for both front and rear tires. Steel features a higher stiffness than textile and this allows the reduction of the tire weight. Steel radial belt reduces the dynamic deformation of the tire under centrifugal forces giving the tire an excellent high-speed stability. Thanks to the more uniform heat distribution, mileage is increased and wear characteristics are more uniform.

Metzeler Advanced Winding: "Metzeler Advanced Winding" is a patented system for optimum spacing between the cords of the 0° steel belt. In certain sections of the tire, the steel cords are wound with different spacing depending on the performance requirements on that particular area of the tire. On both front and rear tire the spacing is wider in the crown area for more elasticity and self-damping. For sections of the tire used for mid lean, there is increased stiffness to support fast cornering. On the shoulder area on the rear tire, the spacing is again wider for safe feedback and control when riding towards full lean.

Contour Modeling Technology: Advanced design technology of the tire contour is tuned to meet high performance riding demanded on the latest bikes. A combination of different profiles on front and rear are optimized to be complimentary at any given angle of lean. The final contour design of the tire set features the best aspects of performance for every riding style on all of the latest bikes: predictability, feedback at the limit of grip and cornering stability.

Dura Sil: Latest generation of high-performance compound, with a high Silica content and new reinforcing elements to give better stiffness and superior mechanical resistance. This new compound has been developed to guarantee a fast and efficient adaptability form cold to hot, dry to wet, normal road to racetrack use with high durability.

Metzeler is my pick. handsdown

This is my 4th Metzeler, I've blown through the M5's and love them, they are so sticky for a road tire, unfortunately not much tread life, about 1700 tops.... THIS M3, though lasts approx. 3500-4500 miles easy, depending on how you ride. And I can't tell much of a difference in traction from the gate... On track or off, I'm really digging the M3

Best tire for sport riders

This is my third M3 and though they don't fair well on concret highways in so cal, they are without a doubt the best performance tire I have ever used. As far as Motorsport goes, what can I say, this is the finest company I have ever delt with, My salesman David Keogh was owesome, this man knows his stuff, wish all Parts Dept. People were half as good, not only was he that good, he saved me $175'00 on this tire!!

Still GREAT

I ordered a set of these for my RF900R and now I put them on my Hayabusa and I still have great comfort. This rear tire is awesome and doesnt wear out too fast. It is great on corners and excellent in the rain. I love Metzeler's prebalanced tires cause it makes the install so simple that with a tire iron and elbow grease, i changed my tires in my living room and put them on in no time. Only brand for me. I think i will try the M5's the next go rouund

NICE REAR

I love this tire. The M3 was a perfect fit for my RF900R. with the amount of touring and the occasional temptation for sports riding the Metzeler handles great. With Metzeler being prebalanced the install is simple. Just line up the stem between the marks on the tire and thats it. As long as your rim is not bent it is balanced and ready to roll. Will not move to another brand. Excellt in the rain too.

excelent tire, warms up fast and sticks to the road. its a softer rubber so its great for grabbing the road to wheelie but wears fast in a burnout. overall i give it 5 stars and definetly recommend it.

M3 Sportec 190/50R17

Unfortunately, my bike was stolen and totaled before I could hit the twisties. It seemed to be sticky enough. Too early to tell about tire wear, but I assume its similar to the old M1s, which I've used previously to the M3 coming out. I would buy it again.
