Great idea - poorly made

I bought these about a month ago. Great idea, but made very poorly. While installing the first stud broke off. The other day I was doing a pre-ride check and another stud was broke off... Dont waste your money! Maybe another company will take the time to make these right.

Good for the price

I instaled this on my Spyder, after doing some work for the cables it worked very well. Only downside in that the plastic should be glue better, had to re glue one side.

Needed some DIY

once I'm done with it, this product will be great. the set I got did not seem to have the circuit boards secured inside the plastic housing. this gave me a nasty rattle. fortunately, the housing is easy to dis-assemble (be patient doing this). i will use clear silicone to stick the board to the back of the housing, and silicone the housing closed. good product, made better.

Good signals

I used these on a custom made "rounded" licence plate bracket. They are bright at night and OK during the day. Bolted up fine and fit well. The only problem I ran into was becasue my plate was bent to fit the bracket, the signals had to support more load and were trying to seperate the plastic cover from the base. A little bit of epoxy fixed that issue. If you are mounting it on a flat plate, you will never run into an issue. Make sure you use threadlock so you don' t need to tighten up the bolts too much.

Are they DOT approved?

Unfortunately, Lockhart Phillips does not specify that these would be DOT Approved turn signals. Normally for turn signals to be DOT legal they just need to be a certain distance apart from each other. I would recommend checking with the Department of Motor Vehicles in your area to see if there is any information they can give your on the laws pertaining to street legal motorcycles in your area.
