To small putting on and removing.

I really wanted to like the helmet because of the reported excellent ventilation and Leatt designed safety features. The quality of the build inside and out was very good. Unfortunately putting on and taking off the large size helmet hurt my ears, so I returned it. I do not have problems with putting on or taking off any of my other large sized street or motocross helmets.

Best Helmet

I bought this helmet as a christmas present for my son. He said that it is the most comfortable, well ventilated helmet he has ever worn and the built in port for the Leatt helmet hydration system works great.

Nice helmet with new technology.

I have always been a Bell owner, but took a chance on this one after buying a neck brace. The quality and protection are second to none, but the finish is not quite the same as a Bell. Light weight, solid construction and good looks make this a worthy alternative.

Dang good helmet

ive broken many helmets and this leatt is by far the toughest ive ever had. i crashed really hard a couple weeks ago and hit my head really hard. other than a head ache it held up amazingly! not a mark on it and and the foam inside was intact and no cracking.

Cool & Light

My son and I have run Leatt 5.5 helmets for a season now, and we are both very impressed. This helmet is always cool and comfortable. The air vents are huge. I used to sweat profusely whenever I wore a helmet, but not with the Leatt. The smaller size and lower weight results in better mobility and less exertion. I've only had occasion to test the impact protection once. It was a light hit on the back of the head, and the helmet soaked up the impact without problem. Can't say how it might work in a bad crash, but until then, it makes riding a whole lot more comfortable.

Great all around helmet

So far, this helmet is great. I love almost everything about it. My only complaint is that the fit is a little strange, but this could be my own head's issue. I normally wear a medium and ordered this helmet in medium. The top of head fit is just about perfect. The cheek pads however seem to be on the big/loose side. My cheeks may be small, but I haven't had this problem with past helmets.
Other than that the helmet is perfect. The styling, light weight, amazing ventilation, and Leatt's name in rider safety far outweigh any issues I have with the fit. Hopefully i can purchase size small pads and make a hybrid medium/small helmet.

High quality, light and comfy

Hands down the best helmet I have ever owned. It's super comfy and light weight. The helmet as a whole is smaller than regular helmets which is nice. You don't look like a bobble head like people do with 6d helmets. The ventilation is ridiculous! Going to make some foam inserts for the vents for the winter. The only other helmet I might get is the Bell Moto 9 flex but that is an expensive helmet. All in all I am super pleased with the Leatt GPX 5.5 helmet.

Calling all round heads!

Great looking helmet, very high quality, light weight, and innovative design.

I was really hoping it would fit well since it's designed to work with my Leatt neck brace. I'd love to be able to look up without the back of the helmet hitting the brace, plus added safety in the design.

Unfortunately my head isn't the right shape. I've had many street and off road helmets over the years and this is the roundest one I've encountered. My measured head diameter is on the low end of a large and the forehead pressure was intense.

For reference, I find Shoei helmets also too round. My Arai street helmet is the perfect shape for my oval heads.

Too Early to Tell

Appears to be well made. Not plush like Bell or Shoei, but comfortable. Huge vents. Leatt definitely is following its own lead in helmet design. Though radically different from what I used to think of helmet protection, I bought this because I trust the Leatt name and because it is designed to work with my Leatt neck brace. Time will tell.

Leatt GPX 5.5 helmet is a work of art

The new Leatt helmet is super nice. The fit and finish of all the components is perfect. The graphics look even better up close and personal. The features of this helmet are very well thought out and it has an overall high quality feel and appearance. The fit is true to normal sizing, if you are a medium in most helmets, then M in Leatt. The shape of the fit is more on the round side, rather than ovicular like a Shoei. And, it is incredibly light and it feels even lighter. Worth a try.

Q: Leatt helmet?

How does Leatt run in size compared to HJC or Shoe? Is large a 7 1/8 to 7 1/4?

A: Leatte has not released their helmet to date. Thus no one has one to compare. Right now, the ETA is out until around the end of summer 2015.

A: They seem true to size. My son used to wear a medium in Shoei, and the Leatt medium fits him well.
