Great jacket

I bought this off a friend who stopped riding and he had it for years and held up very well. I have a large and am 5'7" about and around 150 lbs and it's a little loose on me, but it works good still. The airflow is awesome. In the summer when it's like 90 degrees it doesn't feel like you're suffocating or gonna have a heatstroke bc it's comfy and there's air flowing through to cool you down.

Awesome Jacket!

I just bought my second one. I rode for two years with this Joe Rocket Phoenix 5.0 mesh jacket and crashed in it two weeks ago. I lowsided at around 50 mph. The jacket got pretty torn up. I had two small, minor spots of road rash, a broken rib and bruising. The jacket did its job very well.
The heat is extreme here in Columbia, SC and this jacket allows TONS of air to flow through. The adjustments on the arms makes for a tailored fit at the wrists, whether you wear short gloves or gauntlets and the forearm adjustments stop the material from flapping in the wind. Plus the jacket looks cool!
Buy this jacket, you will not be disappointed.

Good for the heat, thats about it..

me and a friend both bought this jacket for summer time riding. with the 90+ degree weather here in GA it does its job great, it fits good , and it does well in rain.
now to the not so good: the zippers get hung up a lot. the thin mesh wont help in a crash its just like a MX jersey, you can see right thru it. lastly the stitching on mine is already coming undone and ive only had it 3 weeks.

Great Jacket!

Great product. I'm very happy with this purchase. It's like two completely different jackets when you remove the liner.

LINER IN-you get a waterproof, wind resistant jacket, great when combined with a hoodie in cool weather.

LINER OUT-a perfect lightweight, warm weather jacket that breaths freely, feels like you're barley wearing a jacket, and you're still protected.

Price is good too. Joe Rocket makes great riding gear that lasts. Im 5'10" 175 lbs, average build, and a large fits me great.

Summer Heat

Well I just bought this jacket a week ago I like the air flow it offers and it's lightweight. It's vented so well that you can look right through the jacket anywhere there isn't any armor. Like any other Joe Rocket jacket you feel protected from the start but I plan to upgrade the back armor.

The fit and functionality of this jacket is excellent. Armor is easily removable, as is the waterproof liner. The jacket is lightweight and great for hot weather as well as mild evenings.

My only complaint is the strength of the interior pocket stitching - the thread holding the sunglass pocket flap broke when I pulled it back from the velcro closure.

Rain Or Shine... Great Anytime

So I got this jacket and I have used it for a couple of weeks now. I ride my bike to work and back daily and though I check the weather every morning, I still sometimes get caught in the rain.

When the sun is out and it's super hot, this jacket (with the liner out) works miracles as far as keeping me cool and allowing me to feel the wind.

When it rains, (and it has) I put the liner in and I really do stay bone dry. I was amazed after the first time I got caught in the rain with this jacket.

A+ Great product.

Great Jacket

Jacket great for beginner or vet. Flow-Thru makes it east to breathe so never hot while riding. The rain vest included is great incase of those rainy days.

Q: Reflectiveness?
1 year 11 months ago
I was looking to get a bit of info one how reflective the Blue/Black Phoenix is. Are the silver like panels reflective or is it the piping?

A: I am sure very poorly since it's was made to vent as must air as possible.

A: This jacket is mesh. It is intended for hot weather riding. You can put the liner in and stay comfortable (at speed) down around temps in the fifties, but any lower than that and you need a different jacket.
"Minus degree wind chill" calls for a heavy, well insulated jacket.
