I bought these pants to complement the Joe Rocket Alter Ego 3.0 jacket I purchased about a year ago. The sizing table provided by Joe Rocket is accurate assuming you will wear these pants over street clothes. I am six foot, 225 lbs and wear 36W, 32L jeans. The XL-Reg size fit perfectly over my jeans and boots. I ride in a somewhat sporty forward position so slightly longer than 'normal' length works for me so the pants don't ride up on my boots. The small removable panel that runs from the upper hip up around the backside to the other hip only exposes a small area about 3 to 4 inches in width and about 24 inches across. What this means is that while you can wear the mesh jacket in the hottest weather, the pants are only going to be comfortable for temperatures about 70 degrees F and less. There are armor pads for the knees that may be installed in one of two pockets so you can adjust the location higher or lower by about one inch. The jacket's outer shell provides wet weather protection, but in the case of these pants, the waterproof liner is worn inside the pants. There are zippers up the outside of each leg for both the outer shell and the waterproof liner about 24 inches long that make it very easy to get these pants on and off over street clothes and riding boots. There is padded kidney protection that rises up the back about two inches higher that helps seal out drafts when leaned forward and eliminates any plumber's butt. The construction of the pants are sturdy and appears to be well sewn. The first pair that were shipped to me had a damaged zipper on the zip-off panel but Motosport happily exchanged the pants very quickly with pre-paid return shipping. If you buy these in the off-season, be sure to try them on and check all the zippers upon receipt just in case. Hopefully, my zipper experience is a rarity.

Joe Rocket QC seems to be lacking these days. I had to return the first pair due to a zipper that wasn't completely sewn on. Motosport exchanged them quickly and easily. While the waist fits to size the rest of the pant is a little baggy. Good to fit over shorts or pants I suppose. The zip off venitilation does an ok job. Where the vents are located the air really doesn't hit very much. Definetely not hot weather pants. I have an older pair of Joe Rocket pants that are constructed much better. I doubt these will last years, but we will see.
